I wore it one day with a beautiful suit and it snagged all up and down under my arm and ruined the suit. It was not something you could feel when it was happening. As is always the case it was a very expensive suit that was my favorite!! I learned that you do need to look at bags with the snag factor in mind!

I have to agree with BL, the weave was very pretty, but I would be scared to wear it since I wear a lot of linen. Maybe it would be ok outside a wool coat.

I asked a BV SA about the elephant and the first thing she said was "Do you remember the color Old Petra?" She did not have a bag to see IRL, so I busied myself with some sale sandals and SLGs.

Thanks for sharing your assesment of the color with us, shih_tzu_lover. You might want to take pictures and place them in the reference so that we can see what you mean. I know that you will love the tea belly - congratulations!!!

I was talking to the manager at AC today and quizzed her on the Matita for Fall. jburgh and I saw the Matita in a wallet from the fall collection in Carmel this past weekend and it was a smooth calf leather with a satin sheen but not the soft glitter that the S/S Matita had from the embedded mica. She said the fall Matita is not the Specchio that has the subtle sparkle but it can be special ordered. So those that are expecting the S/S Matita will be disappointed. The new one is pretty, just disappointing if you are expecting the sparkle aspect.

S/S Matita was offered in two different skins: Goat and Calf.

The Specchio is Goatskin and had the mica embedded in it as well as the added texture of goatskin itself.

The calfskin version of Matita was very smooth calfskin with mica embedded in the skin, which only added a subtle shimmer.

The Matita Cabat will be produced in the smooth calfskin only, but will have the mica. This can appear very subtle in some bags and you must look very closely to see it.

doloresmia - Thank you (and B.) for the photos! I am confused about which is which, but am guessing that the pinkish one is the new elephant armatura. They're both so pretty!

^^^ yes that is my understanding, but i could be wrong :)

perhaps some of the fabulous ladies who just went to nappa could confirm, since they saw the non-elephant armatura in real life.

I just saw BL's reveal and it looks like non-elephant armatura is indeed pewter colored
She's Here! Miss Armatura!!!!!

You're right, the pinkish one is Elephant Armatura. I think he said it was a little lighter shade too if I'm not mistaken.
