Default Bottega Veneta Joy!
I was a newcomer to the BV forum about four months ago, but now I am an addict and I have to thank you all for that! I wanted to reward myself for trying so hard in school and I just received good news from some grad programs so I just bought a ferro sloane and then I couldn't help myself and bought a baltic 2-strand knot bracelet (pictures when they arrive!)

My friend just splurged on a sterling silver Tiffanys necklace and she said something to me that put things into perspective:
"I bought this necklace for the brand name because I could find the same thing at Macys. I'm pretty sure you can't find your bag at these department stores."
So I thought about it, and I realized that it is pretty impossible to replicate a Bottega Veneta bag's quality- woven leather that is durable as well as so soft. Bottega Veneta woven leather is probably the most difficult to replicate, since the strands are thin yet they can withstand the test of time!
I just wanted to spread the BV joy! Hope you all have a great day and I will post photos when my items arrive!!

The Ferro Sloane was my first BV. You are right about the uniqueness of BV. Sublime beauty. And since there are no glaring logos, it is like a little secret between you and the bag.

Since I'm still a college student-I had to sell 3 of my older bags to be able to afford a Sloane (which were a Miu Miu, a Louis Vuitton and a Lulu Guinness). The BV is so much better because it is timeless (no awkward hardware that makes it trendy and no flashy logos)! I like that it is an insiders only secret and that the leather will stand the test of time. Also that ferro is dark enough to not show stain but also isn't a boring black or brown. It's hard to afford my BV addiction though even though school is free and I am working 2 jobs- I'm trying to save up! So I am putting myself on a purseban even though I can't help coming to the forum!

So I just learned that BV will be coming to Atlanta in Fall 09, just when I will have moved for grad school :o( If I move to Pennsylvania, NY is only 2 hours away though!! But what if I move to NC?? ahhh

if you move to a state without a BV boutique, it means you will be able to order BVs from the boutique and have them shipped for $15 and no sales tax. perhaps that should factor into your grad school decision. heheheh.

I know how much everyone loves pictures (including me) so I overcame my camera-shyness and took some on figure shots! Here my lovely ferro sloane! I will be sure to take pictures of my knot bracelet when it arrives!

I apologize for the poor phone camera quality and dirty bathroom mirror! Even though it looks large on the photos, it really doesn't look that overwhelming on me in person. I can't wait until it becomes softer with use and drapes more though!

Your Sloane is gorgy! Ferro is really growing on me...I think I'll consider it for my second BV, whenever that happens.

Pretty Lovely the bag, isn't it?
I also received mine from Saks.com [thanks to PF deals& Steals that I was able to order it on Saks.com using the code for FF event]. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her. I couldn't help looking into the mirror at myself with her for quite a while. BV is my most favorite among all [Balenciaga, Tod's, LV, Chanel, Marc Jacob..]. This Sloane is me. I LOVE simple, no logo, no metal, and so soft and light [yes, it's only 1.6 lbs!!!]. Very Zen.
Saks calls it 'Gunmetal', English of ferro.
Exactly like Anhzie, I started thinking about accessories the minute I saw my dear sloane. What should I get ?? I am also going to order a new medium size chameleon. The one I'm using now is very old, and need some mending.
Oh, my heart is still singing happily

Congrats! It looks great on you. I love this bag and the color IMO is one of the best colors that BV has ever created.
