Thank you so much to all expert!!!

I didn't think my HB can get the discount, he didn't buy luxury stuffs that often. As I always travel to HK, I think the price difference can get another wallet there. Anyway, my HB just wanted to give me a happy birthday & I really appreciated!!!

Actually, I like design of this "nameless tote" but agree with "Bookermoose" that the other designs are more "icon" & never out-of-date.

Find this "Baltic" color in TPF & love it but my HB said it's out of stock! I also like noce color but I have two gucci & LV bag in similar color! Really a headache for me!!! Hope can get some more idea!

Will go to the BV shop on Wednesday with my HB (he has better taste!). It's my first BV, hope I can find the one I like the most!!!

yyyy - The S/S 2008 catalog shows the bag in their seasonal colors. I do remember trying on a baltic "double handled tote" (not a very catchy name) in the BV boutique. The tote is very pretty but for some reason that I can't remember, I crossed it off my wish list.

I agree with everyone's opinion: Visit a BV boutique and play with the bags you're interested in. It'll be the best way to see which one you really crave.

I love your cinched tote and it is such a sweet gift from DH. Keep it and then if you still love the veneta style you can always buy it later in nero. Happy Birthday to you as well!

BTW I wouldn't worry about the whole fake bag thing, I can always tell a real BV from a fake one and if I returned every bag I bought just because it's been faked I don't think I'd have any left!

baltic is a GREAT color. i wish i was going with you to do your "research".... what fun! as you say, the only problem is choosing ONE bag in one color.

i never noticed this bag before - probably due to lack of catchy name, but looking at your pix and then at bryan's baltic tote - lovely!

not that you asked, but i like to SHARE, hehehee - here are my favorite bags for the season.... and i would include jane's large new basket in black when it arrives and she posts photos! hopefully with some more delicious cupcakes!

The ostrich also comes in a lovely lilac color. I am not a purple fan, not like my DD, but it is scrumptious. the best part is you really cannot go wrong. bv styles are iconic... i would second other lovley tPFers here to say most great bags will be faked, but the QUALITY cannot be touched and your sister will want to
when she sees your bag compared to hers. in fact, you should encourage her NOT to patronize fakes. yuck.

It's not an old model, it's still available in BV website but in maple.

And I'm considering this one as I already have a few Hobos (actually my bags are mainly hobo style).. thinking of getting a bag that looks somewhat different from my New Ball.

But but.. I really love the Navy Blue Sloane!!!

Frankly I do not think this will go out of style.

Just to share, I am 5ft 6" too and I find the medium veneta a tat too small for me. But I belong to the heavy-frame group, so I guess that explains. Do try out all the styles and let us know your final decision.

All the best tomorrow!

juzluvpink, when the handle is doubled it would probably be too short to carry on the shoulder (unless as you say someone is blessed with skinny arms/shoulders, which is definitely not me either!), but you can also pull the handle through on one side so it is single rather than double and then it fits over even my ample upper arms really comfortably - and being a single handle it also stays there effortlessly. So don't write it off just yet!

doloresmia - my sister's fake bag was given my her sister-in-law, she also said it's VERY FAKE! She seldom used it! I won't let her use it when I carry my REAL one! However, HK has so many fake because people can get it easily from China. (I come from HK actually)

jane - you are totally right! I knew my problem, always care how people think about me.

aquablueness - my HB's just kidding. I do feel I'm really getting when I see the picture taken on my birthday. I don't mind getting old if I can have some more BV as birthday gift!

juzluvpink, Bookermoose - this tote looks nice when pulling one handle for shoulder carry. Will change the color to nero probably, big headache!

Can't resist anymore , will go to the BV shop today! Thanks, all!!

U mean it can be a single handle shoulder bag instead of double-handle? Ooo.. I didn't know that!!! So it makes it more versatile isn't it? Single for shoulder carry and double it to hang over the arm???

I definitely need to make a trip to BV. But I need to pop first! EDD is 5th Sept and I'm still hanging around!!! Gosh.. I wonder how much longer I have to wait to meet my little boi! He sure is keeping everyone in suspense!

Me too!

yyyyy, now that i've seen a pict of the tote, it's one of the ones i love at BV, i think that it's a very classic style. noce is a classic color too, but nero might provide a little variety between the BV and your LV/Gucci.

Congratulations and happy belated birthday! I hope you had a fruitful trip to the BV stores here today. Can't wait to hear about it! I agree with Syma - it's easy to spot a fake. You can just tell just looking at the leather from afar. THere's a lusciousness to BV leathers that can't be faked. I love the veneta and it seems to be the most commonly faked one but I don't care cos I love mine! I'm 5'2" and small framed so medium's perfect for me.

Hi, just came back from Orchard!!! I really tried as many design/color as I can in the Paragon shop, at least 7/8 bags ,! Well, the female malay SA was very nice but the male Chinese SA : (I think he's more senior)! Then, I went to TAKA to try again!!!

Well, problem again:

- like the "cinched tote" in nero, it's more simple & elegant. However, just find the imitation in the popular chain-boutique!!!

- like the large veneta, it suits casual wear. Can't decide between nero (more classic & shiny) or baltic (like this color & more unique). Additional, I can use the $500 balance to buy a small BV cosmetic case or a Gucci canvas tote (my original bag's bought in Taka, so the they will issue a credit note of TAKA & I can use it to buy anything from any shops in TAKA within 1 year. The service of TAKA is good )!

Anyone can give me some advice??? Thanks!!!

yyyyy, forget about the fakes- you will know yours is not a fake and will feel the silky leather. If you do not have any nero BV yet, go for the black one- so classic, goes with everything.
