Default beautiful veneta arrived from Cannes...but came in the wrong size! help
Hi everyone,

I just received my beautiful Cinnamon Veneta yesterday all the way from Cannes after waiting and ordering it for weeks, but when I opened the box I immediately realised it was toooo big!!! When I placed my order I specifically asked for a Medium! I don't know what happened.. could I have mistaken the name of the size? What I wanted was the smallest size

I sent out an email to tell the SA who was dealing with this order that I thought I was buying a medium and was there any mistake in packing, then she replied me INSISTING it was a medium, she even sent me the dimensions 42cm x 30cm!!! Well I measured my bad and it is 50cm x 30cm which is not what she said. Then she tells me "actually it is 50cm, I typed it wrong". I really don't know what to do now :( She's refusing to admit that she made a mistake, did I some how confuse the sizes?? I just don't know what I can do with this bag now

Measurements depend upon the person taking the measurements... and where they decide to take them. Please look inside the zipper pocket at the numbers on the autheticity tag, and give us the first 6 numbers. We can tell you what size you got from those numbers. If that number ends in a 3 it is a medium. If it ends in a 4 it is a large. The maxi has a different number... please give us the whole number.

Do you have any paperwork that indicates what size veneta you ordered? - an email confirmation? What was the price in usd? - you might have to find a conversion from French francs to usd on the internet - that will give us an idea of which one you paid for and which one you got. Once you post here, we can help you decide what to do next.

Here are the numbers I found on the tag 115654 V0013 7810 so since it ends in 4 then it must be large!!!
The receipt that came with the box doesn't say what size but it does have a code number. I only communicated with the SA using email the whole time and I do have a history of it where I said I was looking to purchase a medium. The price was 660€ and I had paid 160€ for shipping!!!

You were sent the large. What is the current price of the medium veneta and the large veneta in Euros - not on sale? I would contact the manager of the boutique - by phone, followed by email. See if you can straighten it out. Don't be afraid to call - I called Dubai from the US several times - and it was worth it to make certain that all was understood.

I am leaving for a small adventure today with DH - for 4th of July celebration and will not be able to check in until late this evening... may be available some tomorrow.

If your previous emails state that you want to purchase the medium and they agreed, then there was a mistake on their part. They may not be able to easily remedy if there is no inventory. Service is very important to Bottega Veneta.

Please get back to us.

Hi, I must say that even though you were sent a large, I have been finding that some BV stores including dept. stores are referring to the large as a "medium" because there is a maxi also, and hence the large is actually in between the both sizes, so I think that this is how you ended up with the wrong size..or possibly shipping made an error..

Prestwick, Your explanation makes sense. I also find that "size" (S, M, L vs. M, L, XL/Maxi) varies depending on contact.

Caramello, How frustrating!

caramello, sorry that it happened to you! I definitely know how frustrating it feels when you order some beloved items all the way from a foreign country only to find that it's not exactly what you have ordered! Fingers crossed that all will work out in the end. Please keep us posted!

sorry to hear about your dilemma. i just bought the same bag here in paris, and they refer to that one here a the medium. i think it may have been a communication error in what they consider to be large and medium. until i read your post, i thought i had a medium, but alas, i have a large. my bag has gotten very slouchy and soft. you may grow to love it.
good luck!!!

A good thing to know!... that is why Juda told me to send the boutique in Dubai a picture (and I included the style numbers) to make certain that I was buying the right bag. If you are buying internationally, it is very important to send both a picture of what you want, as well as the style, leather and color codes/numbers. You are much more likely to get what you want in that case!

I am sorry to the mistake form your SA. Have you asked her to do the change.
I asked this question to my Parisian SA before, as in H.K. we call it small Veneta whereas USA call it medium,he said that they officially called the medium Veneta and large Veneta but most people call it small and medium. So I think your SA confused the medium and the large.
I believed that the large Veneta is 1320euro, it is 660euro after sale. Has her taken off the VAT? And 160euro of shipping charge is too much for me. I ordered two bag from Paris, the shipping charge is 80euro.

Caramello -I undestand tat it's really frustrating !! I agreed with prestwick tt different country refers the size differently.. When I ordered my Medium Veneta from London, they told me that their Medium is considered as our Large cos they hv a Maxi which is their Large. Their small is our Medium cos they hv a Mini... So in order not to confuse the SA, we communicate the size according to the price so it doesn't go wrong.

Whereas in the US Hounolulu Boutique the SA hv no problem understanding the size I wanted.

since you need to downsize.. suggest you speak to the Manager n see if they can change the size to your medium and the balance amount to spend it on accessories or something.. GL !!

baggiana thank you for helping me with the code! once it arrived i knew it wasn't the size i wanted, but the SA insisted it was medium so I was so confused! I had gone on tpf too to check out the sizes and I figured the bag I wanted was Medium, I didn't really here any mention of Small and assumed it was Mini.

gemibebe yesss it was so frustrating! being so excited to receive the bag, it came in a massive box!

prestwick, SCL yes it seems like maybe just Europe(?) the sizes are in a different order!!

I immediately sent the SA pictures of the bag along with the measurements to sort of prove to her that it is large, then I also sent some comparison shots from tpf to her. I also told her that I could not keep the bag because there seems to have been a mistake, possibly on both parts. Then she replied me with an email saying, 'All sale goods are non refundable and non returnable. Sorry, we are all confused too'. At this moment, I'm

The next day, I decide to give the boutique a call to speak to the manager. After a few attempts, the manager was on his luch break, I managed to speak with him. I told him the situation and that all I really wanted was to have the bag that I ordered. He was extremely polite and let me know that he would handle it. I asked him when he normally is in the shop, and he told me he usually travels inbetween stores in Paris/Cannes etc. He was the Manager Director of Bottega Veneta France!!!! Couldn't believe my luck, he said he speak to the SA that handled the sale and that we would keep our communication through email.
Later in the day, my SA emails me and lets me know she managed to find the bag I'm looking for from another country!! I will be going to Paris in a few weeks so we can make a swap!
I am so happy that everything manged to sort itself out thankyou everyone on tpf

Glad it worked out for you : )
I tried to order a bag from Venice once.
I had to refer to all 4 sizes; mini, small, medium, large.
The SA in Bangkok refuses to call it by sizes too.
They said there have been too many mistakes about the sizing. They just wanted to me to try them on to see which size works for me.
