Hi viv4v. Unfortunately I do have to agree with Boxermom and Baggiana that something just looks off with everything about this one - the tags, the hardware, the font. I've also never seen that style but am still relatively new to BV (just since last fall) so that doesn't necessarily mean anything. The one picture from the auction that really makes me wonder, though, is this one:

Although the stitching seems generally okay (which can also often be a dead give-away), it just looks too messy (for lack of a better word) for BV because the diamond shape and the weave just don't match up right....

It looks like a hobo, but opens wide to look similar to a duffel.
Thank you for any input/ help!

Waiting for the pics (waiting for the listing!! .. beautiful!)

From the Limited Edition plate, I place it as produced before 2004, and after 2001. You should also post pictures of the impressed nameprint/logo, and the front and back of the authenticity tag. People who want to authenticate will ask you for these.

It is gorgeous bag, and with those two exceptions, you have done an outstanding job with the pictures! Best of luck!

Thanks Boxermom, Baggiana and BookerMoose for your advice and insights. Can bv.luxury care to comment as well?

This pouch is featured in the japan website provided by beck77. Link as follows http://www.rakuten.co.jp/madoricci/759465/1831156/ The photos featured on the website look the same as what I have. It doesn't have any label inside the pouch as well. Beck77, are you able to confirm the BV products on the japanese website are authentic?

Also, I know some small leather products that BV carry don't have the care label inside as I have a leather wallet that just has the stamp on the leather and no label inside.

I think the main contention here is the stamping on the hardware which is off under magnification.

Sorry to trouble you gals but I just want to make extra sure before I contact the seller and have to go through all the hassle of settling a dispute claim.

Thanks all and looking forward to your reply soon.

viv4v: Hi, I don't know if I am much help because to be honest, I don't see very many fakes when it comes to accessories - handbags is a whole other story. Anyhow, to me, the item in question looks real - especially the one on the rakuten website: style number, material and color code. I am attaching the picture of the ones we had in store that went on sale SS07. I work with Japanese natives and they frequent the rakuten website and 1 girl said it's very much like eBay. For the most part, the photos look good, the style/material numbers and color codes match, but honestly, I can't confirm.

Sorry if I rambled. Please let me know if that did/did not make sense.

I hope you figure everything out - seems to me Boxermom, Baggiana and BookerMoose are pretty good at what they do!!!

Good luck.

dear authenticators, would you pls look at this tag for me? It's supposed to belong to a "pearlized purple" bag:

lawbabe, I believe the codes for purple colors begin with 5. Reds, pinks begin with 6. What also concerns me is the lining that shows in the picture. That's not any lining that I have seen used. Fabric is in the zipped pockets, not suede, but it isn't a silky/logo fabric. With the white authenticity tag, that should indicate a recent bag.

The pieces don't fit for me. Can anyone else offer opinions/information?

I have two BVs from the Marco Polo line which are from about 9 years ago and their lining is like the one in the photo. I don't know if that means that the bag in question is authentic, but the linings in my older bags match that one.

I found the eBay listing and see this isn't just the pocket but the actual lining. I should have said I haven't seen this lining (pocket or otherwise) in the bags with the white tags. I thought the white authenticity tags started in the last few years, not all that long ago.

MNS--do your bags have the white authenticity tags inside or a different style?

1. This bag appears to be a fake.
2. Seller should provide clear photos of both sides of the white authenticity tag from inside the bag. The font looks good.
