Hi ladies with bags of Ottane leather (esp the Ottane Sloane),

Just wan to check, for Ottane leather, does the color transfer from jeans easily??

Also does it get dirty easily and is it difficult to clean??

hi starrynite, i haven't had any color transfer problems with my ottone but i don't usually wear jeans. it's very easy to maintain and the leather is less delicate then lambskin. however with my ottone wallet, i've noticed that at the button tab the leather is a little worn from the contact. but the ottone sloane is a divine bag and i have nothing but good things to say about it!

hi starrynite,
i have an ottone sloane. (just a spelling tip, it's ottone. don't worry, my italian's not great too!)

it's much hardier than my other light coloured BV (Camel), and i don't worry about dirt. haven't had to clean it yet. in a few months, intend to send it back to BV for cleaning . they have a complimentary service for cleaning the bags. If there's additional servicing or repair required, then will have to pay additional (i'm not sure how much, as i've not been charged before)

i haven't carried it with jeans -- weather's too hot for denim so i don't wear it much in the summer.

actually i hv not seen the actual color in a bag.. only in a wallet...

mrsDIY88, totally agree about the heat. i refuse to wear pants unless it's reallly, reallllly cold. hehee.

the ottone sloane is not loud at all! in fact it's a nice light metallic that goes with anything! let me find my ottone pix for u...

edit: ooops, i put up the wrong watermark. i was going to put those up on my xanga but never did. sorry!

hi starrynite,

I have an ottone cabat and I wear it with jeans a lot (I love wearing jeans and I often wear them to work), black, dark blue, grey & light colored jeans.... But nothing bad had been happened so far (touch wood).

My view is that no matter it's ottone, aurora, lotus or other color purses, BV or other labels, there's always high risk of color transfer from new jeans to light colored purses so it's best to avoid matching light colored purse with new (especially dark colored) jeans. Just my 2 cents.

Ottone is truly a beautiful color and I like my bag more & more each day. Hope you will join the ottone club soon!

it's a lovely bag. i don't think you will have any regrets!

where have you located one? from what i've heard, it's sold out in europe, the states and hong kong.

was told that the new batch will come in sep 08.
so jus wan to make sure b4 it comes cos i never see it in real.
but was so tempted after seeing all the beautiful pics posted by ur girl!!

Wow i asked Beverly Hills BV if there would be ottone sloanes again and was told no. Your thread gives me hope!

tho ottone looks great frm all your pics, im afraid i cant carry it well.. cos im rather neutral person, black & white colour person.. i have more black & white than any one else.. hee..

so im also considering the ferro sloane.. im so torn b/w the 2 choices... sigh..

n so limited money too... ;(

i saw a grey sloane in singapore boutique last wk end.
I mean im frm singapore.
so i didn't ask that us boutique got the ferro sloane anot..
but still actually im not so sure if tat's ferro...
hmm... will double confirm when i hop by the boutique...
