hi all
I am usually a MJ girl. I have been cheating looking at BV. i have seen them IRL, and i really love BV with the understated styles, and super light weight. I have been contemplating b/t campana, parachute or a capri tote? I really appreciate all the inputs.
Of the 3 styles, i love the shape of the campana the best, my only issue with this style is the dogleash closure? is that cumbersome? It seems to me that the bag would close just fine w/o it. I have not seen the campana IRL, how is the size different? i don't like small bags, but i'm very petite, only about 5'. Would the medium size be too small? thanks

I don't think the medium campana will be too small for you at all.

You can let the dogleash hang down into the bag. It sits close under your arm so IMO it doesn't need the security.

I agree with doreenjoy. The medium Campana is not "small". It's a great size and will not overwhelm a petite frame. See below.

Campana (Med) = 8.2 X 12.3 X 5.1 inches
Campana (Large) = 15.2 X 10.5 X 6.6 inches
Parachute = 10.1 X 12.5 X 8.6 inches

Lastly, I'm afraid the Capri has been discontinued. You may be able to get a few remnants via the BV Outlets or as a pre-loved bag via eBay.

Welcome to BV!

The Campana is one of my favourite styles from BV- very elegant and sophisticated. I usually use the dogleash to clip my keys...saves me alot of hassle rummaging around looking for them.

The Capri has indeed been discontinued but I'm sure you'll be able to find one floating around on ebay or the outlets.

I have a large campana. I find it a bit cumbersome and the size makes it a little heavier than my other BV bags. The medium was too small for my frame though. I love the style and wish there was an in between size. The dog leash, IMO, doesn't provide any security since the opening is so wide. In fact, my bag slipped off the car seat with the leash secured and everything fell out. If you carry it as a shoulder bag most of the opening is under your arm as Doreenjoy pointed out.

My GF is 5'2" and she rocks her Large Campana. I have a Med, this size suits me fine, i'm 5'4". About the closure, it also has a magnetic closure which is what I use, I dont use the dog leash clasp at all, I consider it a decorative piece.

Campana is one of my favortie styles by BV.

Depends on how much I have in there

. I also use a Med unstructed Chameleon insert so with less movement within the bag, stays closed...

thanks so much, I really love the campany style, very versatile and good be great with a decorative scarf. I am planning to get the medium size. i want to check out different colors, i'm leaning towards nero or ash suro ( if available) . i am drooling to look at the the pictures in the BV reference style.thanks

Welcome to the BV subforum. You said you re an MJ fan--I have to say anytime I've gone to the MJ subforum for advice or authentication, everyone has been super-nice; great group.

The medium wouldn't be too big for you IMO. Trying on is the best way to decide, though. It's one of BV's best looking designs and soo lightweight compared to many bags being made today. It's a bag that will be around, so that's a plus. The cushion bag may be temporary. As others said, the Capri has been discontinued, but you'll still see some in stores and definitely on eBay.

Hello! these are very important questions for our times and i love them. here are some old pix i have posted before for your comparison. i think the BV SAs that Bryan (aka bv.luxury@gmail.com) uses tend to be petite - so this one is probably 5 1 or 2 ish?

interestingly enough i think i look silly with Large BVs, and believe the Medium is the right size for me. I am 5 1. however, i look silly with small H, so the 35 birkin is right for me. not to talk about myself, but to say if you have an opportunity to try the bag on, it always is better.

^^^^doloresmia, my computer won't let me quote you, so I will simply reply to what you said about different styles/sizes and how they look on each of us. It's so surprising that I can look ok (I'm 5'5" and heavy) with a maxi Veneta, but when the Miu Miu Coffer came out I looked ridiculous with it on--it looked huge on me. I don't understand it but I assume it has to do with shapes and where they hang or are held.

A small woman can look stunning with a large-ish bag, just as I love some of my smaller bags. A great reason to visit BV shops (or any other designer) and try bags on in person.
