Using a medium veneta for comparison, it cost HK11,780 ( around USD1,507) in HK and USD1,490 + tax in LA ( I dont know the tax in LA and the US pricing is provided by a fellow TPF member) in the US.
So whether or not it still good to buy BV in HK will depends on the tax in LA. |

Due to the strength of the £ a the moment I think it works out better for anyone living in GB to shop in America.
If a medium veneta is: 1180 Euros in Paris = £793 1490 USD in America = £744 Although would sales tax in the US change the price. For example how much would be charged in New York??? |

folks, just saw this thread and haven't read it all but upfront:
prices in the EU zone are NOT all the same. LV in europe sells only in france online and if you compare those prices to others in europe they are cheaper. tods in italy is always 20 euro cheaper per pair than in germany - even worse sometimes for sergio rossi. i can't say for BV bec I haven't been to BV in Italy for a really long time but I would not be surprised if prices differed. however, 200 euros is a lot of difference so I reckon there has been a price increase in general. |

VAT in Germany has risen to 19% so like uclaboi said, it might quite good to buy from here when buying from EURO land. definitely more tax back than Austria. pretty sure though that there are other countries that top this.

the prices in europe tends to be about the same. In germany, prices can differ by about 100 euro within states but it's the cost of shipping that can swing it drastically. Apparently they charge 200 euros for shipping to singapore whereas when i called the paris boutique shipping only costs 40 euros. I do think they equalise the retail prices so the nett price after vat dont differ very much within europe.

VAT in Austria is 20%, so still a little more than in Germany, but I do think the Global Refund company that handles the procedure keeps an amount of the taxes anyways and you end up with a refund of about 11.5% in both of the countries... |
