So should the price in US between HK and Singapore? The medium veneta is US$1490 which is about $1100 euro...but need to add 4% to 8.75% of tax depends on which state and county you purchase the bag.

Im planning to go spain in sept and thought I can score some BV stuffs there, but will have to see how much it cost. So the list goes (also depends on exchange rates): Paris Germany Italy HK (no tax) US Singapore (7% tax) Bangkok (5% tax) Japan (5% tax) |

This is a very interesting thread. When I was in Italy a few years ago, I didn't yet appreciate fine handbags and now I wish I had gone to a BV store. Maybe I wouldn't have saved money, but the experience would have been worthwhile!

I checked the price of the ball bag 2 days ago, it was $37xx. I've decided not to get it in sg.

I'm just somewhat relieved that we're not the most expensive in Asia!

Even though all prices should be the same in Euroland it isn't always true e.g LV, Chanel are always cheaper in France.

Agreed, I know that for LV, Germany is cheaper than Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. I heard that it's the cheapest in Sweden, but I would think France should be the cheapest. I remember that for LV, Hong Kong (no tax) is still a little more expensive than the US (including 8.25% tax in Los Angeles) I regret not going to BV back when I was in Italy and France (I wasn't into BV at that time). |

So yes, LV and Chanel are about 5% cheaper in France but I inquired with BV and they said, it`s not cheaper in Italy than elsewhere in Europe. |

I just found out that BV had one round of price increase on 24th May 2007, so I believe 980 Euros for a medium veneta in Paris is the old price (I bought it end Apr 07, thank god!)... so the current price should be 1180 Euros (price from c_24), since BV has same euro zone pricing. A 200 Euros increase!! Ouch!!
Conclusion: Its still cheaper for the rest of the world to buy from Euroland, for Asia, come to HK!! |

I am very surprised about the result as I know that Italy is always the cheapest as BV is from there. Europe is definitely cheapest place to get BV if you are a non European as you can claim the tax back.
crabtreemeko, will it be because of the price you had from France is before price increase and the Italian price is after price increase? |

C_24 - Switzerland is more expensive because the tax refund (5% back) in a smaller amount than in EU countries (11% back after fees). Right?
I was looking at some LV bags in Munich and then in Milan, and found that it was a little cheaper in Munich. Not a big difference, though. |

But their CHF-currency is so strong against basically every other currency that it does not pay off to buy there, even after tax refund. The percentage here in Austria is between 11.5 and 12%, I´ve heard that it was less in other countries, so for a foreigner it might be a good advice to look at the tax refund rates when the basic prices are pretty much the same... |
