I don't know how any of these protectant products compare to one another, but I believe I've read on other tpf threads that saddle soap can actually be harmful to purse leathers. The skins and dyes are not the same as what is used on real saddles, so I wouldn't advise saddle soap.

I posted above after carrying my White Grommet Veneta for about a month about how soft and scrumptious it was getting. Now I can say that I've been carrying my Crimson Veneta for about a month and I would say the very same thing -- it gets softer and more scrumptious every day! The color is even beginning to develop a depth and warmth I don't think it had at first. I would never want to put anything on it that would interfere with its natural, beautiful, aging process.

I just got my first Bottega. Its white and I am worried about dirtying it. Following Jburghs advice I called Nicole at Atlanta boutique and she adviced me to treat the bag with Meltonian water and stain protector. Here is a link to the product Jburgh sent me

http://www.cedarshoetree.com/shop/pr...products_id=58

I havent used it yet, just ordered it. Any experiences with this product. What is the difference between Meltonian brand and Appleguard? Does one work better on a particular type of leather compared to the other? Any helpful experiences? Thanks!
I own several hobos and am keen on obtaining a product to maintain the leather, anyone plse help & share your experiences utilising Meltonian brand and Appleguard, thanx!
