Default Cabat .... Rain... What to do ?
I do carry a small umbrella that always has at it's primary purpose to protect my bag but is there a better way ?

What do you use to protect your bags in the rain ?
I am not too afraid of my Birkin getting a few drops off. I can also close it properly to protect what's inside.

But I would hate for my Cabat to get wet...

Has anyone looked at http://shopraincouture.com/ ? Are there other companies that offer such protection ? I am searching but not coming up with much so far.

Would appreciate any help.

after surfing for a while longer, that is still the only one I have found so far.

But...the site says

"

I think I'm in the minority about this sort of thing, but I don't fret about using my Cabat in the rain, with an umbrella (I have the platino ossidato Cabat, and it's really sturdy). I treat mine like any other bag, holding it close to me under the umbrella so that the contents wouldn't get wet. But that's just me.

I've never seen one irl, but hermes bags come with a rain coat/cape thing and I've thought that may work well for a cabat. Do you have one for your birkin, NicAddict?

i don't take any special precautions with my cabats. one of the reasons why i got them was my belief that they would be worry free. i initially spayed with meltonian but haven't done so recently. it seems this summer, new york hasn't had many days free of rain or at least the prediction of rain so i have carried my bag every day. so far no problems.

i don't carry any special bags for protection. i don't know if any special precautions are necessary for the reflect because of the processes used in making it. mine are nero nappa, vachette and the ottone. all really durable.

did your sa give you any advice?

I am ashamed to say that I didn't even think about asking.. I was too enamored to be worrying about rain at the time....

hehehe, good one. So for the entire time it rains here I can send her to you... that sounds great, you would have a nice bag for about 10 months a year !!
