Default Super-soft lambskin Trigger -- any care tips?
I received a black lambskin Trigger as a present. It has incredibly soft and smooth matte leather -- much thinner and softer than my older Triggers. I've had those for years and they wear like iron. I'm afraid to take this bag out, though, because she seems like such a delicate flower. Any ideas for pretreating and taking care of it? I've never had a lambskin bag before, so even the most basic info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would be interested in any responses as well - I'm thinking about pre-ordering the lambskin Michelle, but am curious as to high-maintenance it might be?

I have this same bag and have had it for @ 2 years - I love it. It definitely does wear out a little faster but it's worth it for the pettability. I just use regular Applegarde which seems to work well but the main thing is that you have to be careful how you store it to keep the soft skin safe. I keep it stuffed. Enjoy it - it's one of my favorite bags :)

Cadillac makes a product I have used on beautiful lambskin handbags and shoes for years. I highly recommend it. I believe it is called rain and stain repellent. It will not close the pores or change the color and is safe even on white and light colors. I use it on canvas too! Stay away from any sprays that contain silicone. give it two or three coats. then every so often.

Last week I had a customer come in who was mortified when her new lt grey lambskin clutch got soiled the first night she wore it. I had sprayed the clutch when she bought it and the soil gently and easily lifted with another product of theirs called leather balm. (very similar to that coach product they sell) with black, soil wont show so much but the leather will dry out and look a little grey, again, a leather balm once in a while will keep it moisturized nicely!

Hope this helps!

Thanks to both for the advice! The Trigger, based on my well-loved oldies, is a bag that loves to be used (and can take a little abuse.) This one, not so much. I just want to make sure to treat it well.
