Default Probs with my First Botkier!! What to do?

Hi all!! I feel like it's been forever since I registered, and I finally have been ACTIVATED!!

I bought the Sasha duffle back in February. IT's the chocolate color.
I haven't worn it much, becuase I felt it was more fall-ish with the coloring. When I was just moving my bags around and changing some sleeper covers, I noticed a HOLE in the leather where one of the smalle handles meets the bag!!!

ANd when I carry it, I mostly use the long shoulder strap. This is my first Botkier and I tried not to overload it, but I didn't expect the leather to rip already.

The issue is I bought from a local boutique. They happened to have a fabulous sale and I bought it on sale... BUt, should I be penalized that I bought it on sale?

The boutique is saying that they can't replace it and Botkier no longer makes the Sasha. I see the Sasha everwhere -Saks, Bloomies, etc. I don't believe they stopped making this bag... Have they?

So all they will do is reimburse me to take it to a shoe repair place or something.... But there is a hole in the leather! Can that be repaired?

Thankns for listening! I'm just sick over this. I still have my receipt and the little Botkier card that came in teh bag.... Any suggestions? THank you!

I would say to take it to a leather repair place and bring the store back the bill. At this point, I would say that probably is the best thing to do...And no the sasha is still in production

I think boutique is not responsible and Botkier should take care of the bag. BUT..... Botkier charges for repairs. It's ridiculous. Some of my friends had stitching become loose or come out and were told to pay to repair even on almost new bags (I have similar problem with the Roxy, but I can fix it on my own). I think Botkier should stand by her product (and its craftsmanship) and fix it free of charge.

THanks all!! I just didn't think they could fix a HOLE in teh leather!
AT first they offered a replacement bag. Then, I think because I got it on sale, they changed their offer.

Now they're saying they'll send it off to Botkier for them to fix it. I just expected greater CS from Botkier.... But, what do I know!! LOL! THis is my first Botkier. This is my first really expensive bag purchase.

Wonder how long it will take for Botkier to fix and get it back to me....

Thanks again for your help!! I'm so appreciative!

Oh, and I stopped by the store, and they ahve several Sasha's in their store! I found that funny since the one lady told me the Sasha is no longer availabe. Even it it's not in my chocolate color, I'd happily take a replacement in another color if mine can't be fixed. but I'm guessing they won't go for that...

Thanks again! Love this forum!

I got a "cut" in the leather of my large Bianca and a shoe repair place was able to glue it and you can't see it at all. It was in a line shape though, not a hole. If it's a round hole it might be harder to fix. If there is a shoe repair place near you that you can ask, they can probably tell you how they would fix it and what it would look like.

Mine was shut (by a flight attendant) in the latch of an overhead bin on a plane, so totally my fault and I didn't even contact Botkier about it.

Welcome to tPF
