Default Persimmon Stevie - glazed or not?

Is the Stevie convertible in persimmon glazed leather or not? I have a buyer who is asking me, and she said she bought one that wasn't and didn't like it, which kind of sounds like Botkier did both, but also which doesn't make sense.

I'd say the bag looks about half as glazed as my RM that is sitting here, but am not sure that makes it unglazed. It's obviously an important issue to her and I don't want to mislead her, so does anyone know? I kind of feel like, "it might be lightly glazed."

I have one and I would not say that it is glazed. It looks more matte to me than glazed. I am amazed that she would not like it. It is beautiful! It does scratch easily though. I love mine.

I believe it comes in both as this issue was brought up in the Purchases from the June 08' SS thread. Geminiz06 had posted pics of the glazed Persimmon Stevie she got at SS which you should check out. I would have included the link but I dont know how to yet ...sorry

About the Persimmon at the sale (The first day)
Yes there are 2 different versions. I dont know if this was meant to be done. Or, if it's just that some bags got an extra coating of something... I first picked up a matted one without realizing that there was a difference. Till later on in the day, when they brought out new inventory. I saw a really rich color with sheen to it, pop out. I then looked at mine, that I was holding & immediately realized that there was a very very big difference. All of a sudden mine didnt look like it had any pop to it (color wise). I purchased (what I consider to be glaze), because the color was richer.

I also saw another woman with the bag & asked her if she wanted the matted one that she had- or did she want the glaze. She didnt know that there was a difference either...Until I found one- And then she was able to compare. There is a really big difference- she decided to go with the glaze as well.

Regarding the color of mine and comments about glazing from other tpfers
Someone while commenting on my pics- commented that they didnt know that there was a difference. And when they purchased there's- they were disappointed- as the color wasnt what they were expecting. And when they saw mine- they then realized that the color they wanted came from it being glazed.

The Same Applies to the black Stevie
I believe that the same applies to the black stevie- on the last day (sunday)-this woman came to the sale sporting her new black stevie- Which BTW she looked FIERCE & so did the bag!! Everyone was looking at the bag, and asking questions pertaining to cost & the style. To which, she commented & warned- To all those in the line- To please be aware- that hers did not have that funny glaze. She felt- that the glaze cheapend the bag- by making it look plasticy- & that she, also did not like the feel of the glaze. She liked the smooth buttery feeling of the matte.

So I guess what I'm saying is- Please do ask the sellers in advance whether the bags are glazed, as a lot of people feel strongly one way or the other

HTH...

P.S. I kind of want the matte one too now. That plastic comment kind of got to me lol...But the only down side to the matte is- That the stevies darken/ blacken in the back where the metal pieces come out from...Without even use. So if you do get a matte light color- it will turn colors quickly. this happened to my chrome yellow- today I'm going to try to get her fixed. Wish me luck

If you are an RM person, the ones I have seen are definitely not glazed like her bags are. I saw it about a year ago when it first came out and it is nice and soft, and also pretty much the exact same color as the persimmon RM is coming out with this season. I don't know if they also made a glazed version but they also made one that was not glazed at all. Gettt itt...LOL
