I saw some of the Botkier for Target Bags (Yuck!)

So I was at Target this morning, and as I was getting ready to check out, I glanced at the handbag dept to see if the Gryson bags were on sale (they were) and hanging there on an end-cap were a couple of the new Botkier for Target bags.

They had the large hobo is silver and gold and two duffles in a pastel rose and silver color -- then on the other side, they had a few clutches and another shoulder bag. ALL of them were these ugly metallic colors/material which looked cheap and ugly!!

I actually liked the style of the hobo bag -- it's similar to Rose Hobo (w/o the Rose) -- it's gathered all around the opening and it's strap is all twisted and braided. It's not made out of "pleather" or vinyl either -- it's some type of coated canvas that almost feels a little scratchy. It's a nice style, but the colors are so ugly. The gold and silver look so dated and are hard to carry off. Certainly not neutral enough for an everyday bag.

I don't know -- I had high hopes for these bags after early "reports" and reviews, but if all the bags are these metallic color, Im not so sure. Something in a simple black or brown would have been nice!

these are the styles and most of the colors that our Target store had - everything was metallic

hmmm ... they are kind of bright gold and silver instead of muted ... i understand what u mean. how much do they retail for?

the hobo was $44.99 -- the satchel was $39.99
I didn't look at the price of the clutches, but I bet they're either $19.99 or 24.99

I honestly do not think they look that bad in real life.
Sure, they are not as high quality as the real ones, but they look great for people with a lower price range~

to be honest, i think these are great for people who can't afford the higher end botkier. i am not wild about the metallic, but they're nice styles.

the styles aren't what made them "ugly" (IMO). it was the colors. I actually REALLY liked the hobo, but not in that silver and/or gold color. That's way too flashy for me and I honestly don't think the metallics are "timeless" -- I understand that these are directed at or meant for those who don't want to spend hundreds on the full line bags, but if that's the case, why do them all in metallic? A nice grey or muted brown would have been nice -- even the rose color would be pretty w/o the metallic

Darn, I was really hoping they'd be nice throw around bags. Maybe the clutches aren't as overwhelming in real life? I haven't been to Target in a little while, did they just come in?

I believe they came out this week.
I went to target yesterday, and I think the metallics are super cute and young, although I did not purchase one because they were 'too big' for me.

i saw them this a.m., they look nice, the python one is decent and she has a really nice black satchel that wasnt too bad...

on that note, I did just order my first Botkier this a.m. thru the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.... i fell for the Bryant large hobo.... i cant wait to pick her up on the 15th

I couldn't find them anywhere at my Target this morning. The Grysons were on clearance, though. I didn't really care for the Gs so I left with nada. I'll have to check again next weekend.

I will prolly go to target tomorrow to see if they have them in yet...I'm really hopeful for the non-metallic clutches, but will not hold my breath.
