I just received my black Nomad and I don't know if Neiman Marcus sent me the wrong bag or not. The receipt says that the bag is leather but it feels velvety to me, almost like a type of suede? Am I crazy here?
Is this just the type of leather or should I send it back? I live in Vancouver where it is raining 90% of the year so I do NOT want a suede bag. Please help!! |

Could it be goatskin? I had a bryant shoulder bag with goatskin and it is definitely different than the usual soft lambskin - it feels matte rather than glossy smooth. Goatskin is very sturdy and resistant to scratches, through.

Can you post pics? I did a google search and it looks like the Nomads were made in a couple different types of leather. The green one I found online is lambskin...

So it has been confirmed to me that the black nomad is goatskin leather and it is a nubuck finish. What do you ladies think? Would you keep it if you were me? I am not used to this type of leather so I am a bit confused on what to do as I love the design of the bag. Will it be okay in the rain?

Protect with a nubuck and suede protector like Waterstop and there should be no problems.
