I just last week purchased two RMs and another Botkier! I bought the first RM from Luna Boston so that I could return it if I didn't like it, well, I love it! I love the shape, color and the leather. There are a couple of unevenly dyed spots on the bag but I can live with this. I liked the bag so much that I ordered another one in a different color.

My Botkier...it's the Fan Hobo in purple from 06 I believe. I bought it from a wonderful pfer for a song! She looks brand new! No worn piping, no loose stitching, nothing! Oh yeah, she was missing a stud from the handle so I emailed Botkier and they mailed me two! I dropped if off at a shoe repair today and for $2.50, I'll pick it up tomorrow and hopefully she'll be as good as new.

Again, if I could only have one label, I would have to go with Botkier.

One of the main reasons I keep buying botkier bags is because they have plain linings. I also like RM and hayden harnett, but sometimes avoid them because of the linings.

I also prefer the plain linings to the printed ones. My Balenciaga is my most expensive bag and it has a plain black cotton lining.

I love RM styles and the leathers are gorgeous, but it really bugs me that the hardware on my RM bag tarnishes and I have to polish it. I have never had to do that with other bags.

I have 3 botkiers (2 sashas; 1 e/w trigger satchel) and 1 RM (MAC clutch in this goorgeous orange). I really love the colors that RM offers every season, but I'm almost overwhelmed with all the colors. I want so many, and I'm sure that I'll tire of them soon (just me, I guess). I find my botkiers to have a timeless style and look. And since I hate reselling my bags, that's important to me. I've never had problems w/ RM quality, because well, I only have one. Also, the ever-so-popular MAM and MAB styles don't do it for me. Don't get me wrong... I think they're great looking, but I'm not into wide bags (as in depth i guess), so I usually look for RM clutches when shopping online. I do love the MAC clutch, and am always looking on ebay for other colors.

I have two of each. I have the Botkier Stirrup (I think that's what is's called) and a East West Trigger and a Nikki and a MA. In my opinion Botkier wins hands down on quality. I remember when I received these bags I felt like I was really getting my money's worth, they feel like much more expensive bags. With both the RM bags, I waited for some serious sales before I bought them. While I love the design and colors of the RM bags, they just don't seem worth that kinda money to me, I would feel ripped off if I paid full price. And I haven't had the OC issues the some of the other gals had. I just feel like I have to baby the RM bags and I don't like paying a lot of money for a bag I have to baby.

I don't own a RM bag but I did purchase my first Botkier bag at the sample sale and I love it. I bought the Kai convertible satchel in pearl gray and am very impressed with the quality and style. The leather is incredibly soft, the color is beautiful and I love the rouching in the front. I will most likely buy another Botkier in the future (I love the design of the Sasha).

Default Botkier's Fall 2009 Lookbook!
Hey Everyone,
It's Summer and that means time for the Fall 2009 Collection sneak peak for Botkier!! I have attached the pictures. Enjoy!

-Design Statement for Rocker Chic on Crosby Street

“Leather. Zippers. Studs... the Botkier Fall 09 collection flaunts all the details we love about Botkier. Taking it back to street chic NYC cool. Inspired by the seductive pulse of New York City streets and my favorite pair of worn in, black leather motorcycle pants. Handbags and shoes in a palette of moody darks and sexy neutrals that get better with age. Slouchy silhouettes that live with us. This is quintessential Botkier.
- Monica Botkier

love the botkier team!

I think the Fall lookbook trumps the discussion. Botkier wins hand down (or thumbs up).

You guys know I like Rebecca Minkoff...but I have to say honestly the quality of Botkier is much better. I have never had a Botkier break, and I still have Botkiers I bought back in 2002 and 2003 that are still beautiful and that I still wear. RM bags are beautiful but for this price point they just have too many QC issues. I think it's also pretty clear that Rebecca has taken a lot of inspriation from Botkier!

I'll chip in my 2 cents. Other than QC problems, I personally prefer Botkier (despite my evident desperation to get an RM bag) because the organization inside the bag is better. When I got my MAM, it just had a couple of pockets inside the bag. Every Botkier I've bought and seen IRL though, has had at least a zipper pockets, a few open pockets, and a chain for keys or a keyfob inside the bag. For me this is crucial since I'm not very organized, and I woud love a bag to have lots of compartments to be organized for me. Just my 2 cents!

I own both and I think Botkier quality is SO much better.
I think Botkier has chosen to pay more attention to details rather then RMs focus on more choices in color/style (almost too much!) Thus, Botkier has less QC issues, leather issues, etc. The lining in Botkier bags are also so much more sophisticated then RM.

RM has a tendency to continuously make modifications to bags throughout the same season and this can be annoying as you may see one picture, love it, and get a totally different bag when you actually order it.

Quality is better then quantity.

I have both brands and they are both great. No problems with either brand although I have noticed that my newer Botkier's do not seem to be the same quality as my older ones. Especially the Venice hobo whose leather and zippers seem much cheper than I expected from Botkier but as long as she lasts...we will see!
