On July 20 Botkier's handbag line for Target hits stores. But this morning, we have a sneak peek at the collection. Designer Monica Botkier describes it as "a mix of luxury and utility with a downtown edge. It is for the chic, modern woman — it features rich textures and luxe metallics, combining my signature use of hardware as the jewelry of a handbag while still keeping a focus on functionality." As with all Botkier bags, every piece in the Target collection comes with lots of interior pockets and a key chain long enough to reach from purse to lock without too much awkward fumbling.

What's next for Botkier? The designer just launched a shoe collection and plans to expand into other categories of accessories. She hasn't ruled out clothing design and promises a Botkier store is coming soon.

I think they look cute... not sure about how they're going to look IRL though...

I've never been very into Botkier, but I'll definitely check these out! I'm loving the shapes and that beautiful purple color especially.

Thanks for giving us a sneak preview!

Love the design. I hope they don't end up looking too plasticy.

I think these look great - even better than the Grysons I saw today! I like how they echo the mainstream line without really copying them. I'm kind of bummed that there are so many metallics, but that's just because I can't wear them that well.

Incidentally, the Gryson for Target line looked a lot nicer IRL than I thought they would...they feel nicer too (for PVC)...

maybe I am stupid, but I hate them. They seem like the worst line so far for Target. All of the bags look like they are wal-mart plastic to me...
=(

the taller purple hobo looks like a winner, I think that's the only one I like, but I might change my mind when I see these IRL, so far I haven't liked seeing any of the GO accessories in person :{
