Wow, they definitely look like "knockoffs" of the higher end Botkier line.

I really thought she was going to redesign the Target line instead of just use her older designs and change one or two things. A little disappointed.

Wow, some of these actually look quite nice for what they are. For the fans' sake I hope this translates to real life.

It seems that most of the posters on The Cut forum didn't think they would look that great in real life. I thought they looked very nice...

I have to agree. I don't like the designs, the color, or the pleather. Too bad...I don't understand why they can't use alternate materials other than Pleather....like nylons or fabrics.

I wonder if it's possible that in their main lines they are moving toward nylon and fabric (like Gryson). Hence, if fans of the full-priced Botkiers saw nylon versions of their *nylon* bags, there would be far more of an uproar than there is now, with the pleather/PVC versions out.

Vera Wang did nylon fabric and leather for her (less expensive) Kohl's line...I think her bags may have been more accepted because her accessories/handbags are not available everywhere, nor as popular. I did hear that some lovers of her jewelry line were a little peeved that the Kohl's versions looked similar to her genuine stone jewelry....

I think you are right - I would have LOVED a nylon Gryson from Target, they could have made it much less expensive without a suede lining and a lesser quality nylon, but I think there would have been an uproar that it was too much like much pricier bags. If they'd made a nylon bag that didn't look like the existing Gryson line, then there would have been dissatisfied customers because it wouldn't look like a signature Gryson design. There is no satisfying everyone, I guess!

They are very cute designs. But like others have said, I hope they don't look "cheap" and my cheap I don't mean not expensive...I mean poorly made/plasticky materials.

I agree. I posted this on a thread in the Botkier subforum as well, but I think many of these bags look disarmingly similar to bags in her usual line. I was hoping that she would come up with some new and unique designs for her "for target" collection.

I'll reserve judgment until I see them IRL, but I wish she'd have done a fabric or canvas. It's summer!! The perfect season!!

They look really cute, but so far I haven't really been too impressed with the designer Target bags...they look cheaper than I would like.Just because something doesn't cost much, doesn't mean that it should look like it doesn't cost much!!But that's just me.I'll reserve judgement until I see them in person.

I don't care for them either. They look plastic-y.

What materials are they using?
They look totally similar to the regular Botkier line, except cheapened materials.
The shapes and designs are cute though, for what they are.
