Bumping this...I'd like to learn more too. Flying to Italy in December, and would do just about anything not to fly the misery that is coach. Anyone have any reputable consolidators to recommend?

Try these folks. First/business class tickets are 'cheaper' than buying from the airline. But no where near the price of coach.
Check into it now, they don't always have an inventory right when you call. They have to wait till something becomes available.
