you'll be walking distance to Whaler's VIllage Shops
We stayed @ the Westin last time we went.
Also, you'll want to visit Lahaina for nightlife and fun restaurants.
There's great snorkeling around the giant rock to your right when you walk out to the beach and at night they light tiki torches and have divers diving off the cliffs of those rocks.
We love Maui, specifically Ka'Anapali Beach.

hmm the shops at wailea is great for your designer fix with LV, gucci, bottega, fendi, and tiffanys.
I was hoping there would be LV on the island.... I just hope DH doesn't figure that one out! Zip lining sounds like fun. I am going to look into it. Thanks for the suggestion! DH and I don't really go into the ocean so snorkeling is out of the picture. We watch a little too much Discovery channel.

Walking distance!? Oh my goodness.... that's just too much to ask for! LV here I come!

Did you enjoy your stay at the Westin? Was it crowded?

I need to remember to pack some cute going out clothes. Last time we stayed at the W at Diamond Head on Oahu and there was a club on the 2nd floor. We ended up not checking it out because I didn't have anything that would look appropriate. Since the majority of our trip was spent on Kauai I didn't think I would need anything. Lesson learned!

Has anyone went horseback riding on that island?

Are you planning on buying at LV? It's a good excuse to get into their system for all those Hawaii exclusives and no tax benefit when shipping to mainland US!

We were going to do Road to Hana, but got lazy. There's some good snorkling on the way to the Ritz on the north side of the island. And the sunsets... ah! And the fish! So tasty! Sigh. I wish we can go back soon!

I bought my Amarante Summit Drive at the LV on Oahu. The SA there was so nice and really helped me through my indecisiveness. I am tempted to snag a little something from the one on Maui too. Can't hurt to be in the system on both islands. Especially since they are getting the Damier Neverfull way before the mainland. I live in a sales tax free state but I noticed the items were cheaper there so it evens out a bit.

DH and I don't eat fish but I am sure Hawaii offers an amazing selection. You can tell we are originally from the midwest. No swimming in the Ocean and no fish eating!

Thanks for the ideas!

Glad to know this - hubby just got an offer to redeem Hilton points at the Wailea. I was a little leary because I've never been to Hawaii, I'm not into seeing volcanos, I don't golf or surf, and my skin can't take sitting on the beach. Wasn't sure what I'd do there while DH golfs and surfs - other than drink and eat sushi. But sounds like there will be plenty to keep me entertained... I'll have him book the flights. And have more $$$ to spend if we're using Hilton miles...

Here is the link to Whaler's Village. http://www.whalersvillage.com/ Looks like only LV and Coach are listed but there are 88 other stores you keep you entertained.

When are you planning on going?

Thanks! Not sure, he was looking around our birthdays, so probably May or June. I think the offer we got from Hilton was through the end of June.

First of all let me say that I'm soo jealous I probably wont be able to get there until after june, but I would love to go NOW, hehe. Westin Ka'anapali is really nice, right next to Whalers village i believe, there is an LV there as well as Tiffany and Maybe coach? and ALOT of other stores. Hula Grill and Lelani's is right there too. I prefer Hula grill but both are good. Your right by Lahaina too as others have said the shops there are really cute and some really good resturaunts, I especially love David Paul's (probably one of my favorites on the island) and Pacifico's is good too. I also like the Plantation house on Kapalua on the Golf Course, its such a relaxing atmosphere, and there banana forrester is delish. As far as activities Road to Hana is good, if you make it all the way to hana there is a black sand beach there, but this trip will take you ALL day like from 8AM to 6PM, but the views are amazing. Haleakala is great too, although I have never been able to wake up for a sunrise its suppose to be beautiful, its awesome duing the daytime IMO. Also I am not sure where it was but there is a BEAUTIFUL lavender farm on the island, the guy there he has the most gorgeous flowers I have ever seen, its beautiful. If you want you can take a ride to Wailea the resorts are huuuuuge there, the resorts in Ka'anapali are big but the ones in Wailea will tire you out, haha. The shops there are great and if your in the neighborhood check out the Grand Wailea its really nice hotel and the resturaunt there HumuHumu is good. Anyways I cant think of anything alse right now but if i think of something ill let you know. HAVE FUN!! Oh and Spa Moana in the ?Hyatt is FABULOUS get the hot stone massage.

IMO Kauai was the best island to relax on. I loved it. You should absolutely try and make a trip out there.

i heard the same thing, as well!! while in oahu, we met a middle-aged, well, closer to retired, couple who said that kauai was their favourite island. they said all they did was go parasailing, hiking, swimming under waterfall cliffs, etc. i was like just sitting there listening to them. haha.

DH and I aren't quite that active. But, there certainly is a lot to do. And the views are amazing.

Ooooohh! I am going to Maui next week. I was thinking about doing the Road to Hana, but now that I have heard that there is a Coach store....... hehe.

My only expectations of Maui is being in the hotel room and being able to listen to the waves.... instead of cars, rude people, and other noises I hear at my place.
