I always stayed at the Peninsula when I visited HK - yes they pick u up at airport with rolls royce (they have the most number of RR amongst the hotels), and if you get the suite, u dont even have to wait at reception, a member of staff will personally escort you to your suite where you provide your payment method in the suite itself i.e. they have the machines etc set up there.

Peninsula is the best - i love the shopping arcade and the architecture of the place itself..have fun!

Back in 5 minutes..
What are your original hotels and where do you see yourself at for personal stay? Perhaps your from-to (business wise ) will have an impact?

Peninsula is probably very convenient if you are looking to go shopping during the day. The Mandarin Oriental is very nice with a spectacular view too.

Stay Gold!
Can I please ask a dopey qns - my bf is quite tall (185 cm) and when we went to S'pore the bed was too short for him!
Hence, can you ask the hotel for a longer bed?

If money is not an issue, definitely the Peninsula. It's one of the most reputable and beautiful hotels in Hong Kong (they even have a Tiffany and Manolo boutique on the hotel premises - totally worth it given that there are no sales taxes in HK). One of the to-do things for tourists is to have high tea in the Peninsula. Do note that Peninsula is on Kowloon island whereas Intercon, Four Seasons is on Hong Kong island itself. There are loads of shops on Kowloon itself (Harbour City carries all the high end brands) but definitely not as many as Hong Kong itself so if you are shopping for high end brands, this is something you may wish to keep in mind :) Boutique hotels wise, there is this hotel called Jia Boutique Hotel which is built by Phillip Starck and is absolutely beautiful :)

I think the hotel choice depends on what your priorities are. If you are looking for spectacular view, IC is probably the best & I would say it's even better than the Pen's view.

The Pen has history & glamour & is still considered one of the best hotels in Hong Kong. They are currently running " "The Suite Life" promo where you can reserve the Grand Deluxe Harbour View Suite for HKD$7900/night which is a great deal. The RR airport pick up rate is also fantastic.

I personally love & prefer the Four Seasons but it is on the Hong Kong island side & there is no great promos at the time. The view isn't as great even if you get the harbour view because it doesn't exactly have the full Victorian Harbour view.

I haven't stayed at other properties, so I couldn't really comment on them. DH & I are going on a three week Asia trip in a couple of weeks, and we are staying at the FS again.

You really can't go wrong with either the Pen or the FS. Good luck.

You should definitely go for the club level at IC, and like I said before the view is amazing from IC. You get the club access at the FS if you reserve the suites, but if you reserve the regular rooms, also pay extra to get the club access because it's worth it.

You WILL NOT regret staying at the FS. It's one of my favorite hotels!

I would choose Intercontinental. The club level rooms has fabulous views!! The I-spa at IC is awesome too! But most importantly I prefer to stay on the Kowloon side, seems like it's easier to get around. I know you already shot down The Pen but it has the BEST LOCATION by far! It's smack down in the middle of everything. The IC has a good location too but you have to walk a little bit (but to me it's no big deal). Ultimately, it comes down to this...you want to stay in Kowloon? or the Hong Kong islands? Because that woud make your decision a whole lot easier.

Thank you for spa feedback! This will be a quick opportunity for DH and I to connect between other business travels. View will be appreciated...spa is essential...and this will be our first trip to HK...so we will do a few tourist things and relax in a nice hotel...
