Default Your Vegas Recommendations: Food? Shopping? Fun?

I went to Vegas for the first time last year and next week I will be going again for my wedding.

I'm wondering what your favorite things are about Vegas? Where to eat/shop/sightsee? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My fiance and I don't do seafood, but we love everything else. He's been a few times, but this is the first time we will be going all out.

Has anyone been to the Premium Outlets or the regular (?) Las Vegas Outlets? They seem so similar.

I've heard good things about The Chocolate Swan in Mandalay Bay. Mmm, chocolate. Any dessert recommendations?

So exciiiiited!

I had never been to the US til I went to Vegas in November and oh my god - I LOVE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!! Granted my view of the US is prob slightly distorted since my first glimpse of US soil was the bright lights of Vegas but oh if I could go back I would go tomorrow!

We stayed in the Bellagio and the best place we ate in was Fix in the Bellagio .. they do amazing steak. There is another steakhouse there too that books out very very quickly and unfortunately couldn't get a reservation so we went to Fix instead and it was awesome! So I can only imagine how good the other place must've been!

All I did in Vegas was shop shop and shop! My poor bf was driven demented with me dragging him around to every shop in the Forum Shops at Caesars and Fashion Show Mall. We went to the Premium Outlet for like an hour because it was soo so so so crap. I would never go back there again! I couldn't get out of there fast enough, we literally were just there to have a quick look and straight back to the Forum Shops

We went to see O at Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio and that was cool BUT I found it very long and considering I was still exhausted from jet lag I kept falling asleep! But it was nice to see.

I just love Vegas for the shopping, it was great!! The US is the land of fabulous shops! Oh how I wanna go back now

The outlet malls are always hit or miss. The one at Primm, NV is definitely higher end than the outlet mall in Las Vegas. That's where you'll find Burberry and Neiman's Last Call and Kors and Tods and many more. Then there are 2 in LV - one on south LV Blvd and the other is at Charleston & I15. The one on LV Blvd isn't anything great, IMO, but Saks Off 5th is there. The one at Charleston & I15 does have some higher end stores - Coach, Armani, Bernini, Benetton, FCUK, Banana Republic, etc. Nordstrom Rack is in Henderson, not in an outlet mall.

GOD BLESS YOU!!! (Not all cities are like Vegas for shopping.) You need to come back to Vegas in 2010 when Wynn & City Center opens their new shopping areas.

Default Pinball Hall of Fame!

My favorite place in Las Vegas is the Pinball Hall of Fame, off the Strip on Tropicana Blvd. You'll need a car or taxi ride to get there. It's near the Liberace Museum if you're interested in that.

There is no admission charge, and they have almost 150 different pinball machines available to play (50 to 75 cents per game, some of the older ones might be only a quarter).

Ha ha, yes I thought Vegas was brilliant! I want to buy an apartment in Vegas and go there all the time! Granted it is one hell of a long flight from Ireland, but still!

When you say not all cities are like Vegas for shopping ... as in there are better cities for shopping or Vegas is the best? Wynn & City Center are opening a new shopping area, oh how I will defo have to be back for that!

I am so jealous that you live in Vegas! *sigh* Boring Ireland is just bleh BORING!

We just back from a few weeks ago...I did a review if you want to a search.

I don't think I put in there anything about food....it was a quick trip so we just did a lot of quick...this looks good...except:

We went to the Vodka bar at Mandalay Bay, and did these tastings which were a blast! That night we also went to Charlie Palmers in the Four Seasons. It was so, so yummy...expensive, but yummy. Dinner for 4 was about 1200.00, but we did have 2 bottles of wine.

I love the Primm outlets. Also stop by Ceasars Palace for some great shopping. There is also a mall when you are about 30 minutes away from the strip, but I forget the name. It is OK but has a lot of regular stores [abercrombie, gap etc]

DO NOT GO TO THE PREMIUM OUTLETS!!! The mall was old and had crappy stores.

I agree, do not do the Premium Outlet to the right past Mandalay Bay...aweful! .............Besides the tremendous Ceasars Palace, There is also a mall on the strip across from the Wynn call Fashion Show Mall.....it is very nice and has great department stores like Neimans, Bloomies, and Nordstrom. Cant wait to go back to Vegas in a few months!

What I love about Vegas is definitely the shopping. Ah hellooo? LUXURY GOODIES GALORE! The Wynn Hotel, Bellagio, Fashion Show mall, the Outlets!! It cannot get any tastier than that. My parents have this Timeshare with Hilton Grand Vacations so it's even better. My parents said that the Buffet at the Wynn Hotel is absolutely delicious. I didn't join in with them though, so I don't know what kind of restaurant it is.

Since we stay in Condos during our trip there now, we always go to the nearest market and barbeque steak by the pool. That's probably one of the greatest memories there. We go to Vegas every year for the longest time now, so long I lost count! We're going again this Christmas too. My last trip there was just last month!!

It's going to be a lot easier going to Vegas in the Fall/Winter seasons, since it's not so hot over there. Hopefully I can go to the Premium Outlets this time, I almost passed out from the extreme heat over there, I can't stand it.

If you like makeup, especially MAC- check out the CCO. I think there are 2 in Vegas?

I love VEGAS! There's too much to do to "waste" time at the outlet mall--the outlets in Wrentham, MA and Woodbury, NY are infinitely better, and I think the vegas outlets are a total letdown.

I LOVE the Fashion show mall and we LOVED the WYNN.

TIP #1: THIS IS A GOOD TIP, READ IT! If you sign up for a "Wynn" players card and Rack up 50 points (that's not that many!) by playing the slots, you get TWO free buffets. I usually don't like buffets but since it was free we went and it was delicious! It usually costs 80-something dollars for two people on a friday night and we only spent about $40 to get our 50 points... it was like "winning"... plus, the Wynn is right across from the mall. Totally worth the trip.

I stayed at TREASURE ISLAND and it was awesome, too.

TIP #2: I did the "TWENTY DOLLAR TRICK" and got upgraded to a penthouse level strip view room. Check out
http://www.thetwentydollartrick.com/
and http://www.frontdesktip.com/ for more information. Worked VERY well for me at TI in April.

Hope these tips help!
