Default Where to go in December?
Inexperienced traveler here. Looking for ideas of where to go in Late December. Can stretch out to Dec 18-Jan 2 (2 weeks). But actually prefer Dec 26 - Jan 2 (1 week). With a budget of about... $1000-1500 per person. From the San Francisco Area.

This past year, SO and I have been to.. Disney World, New York, and Seattle. So I've researched everything from Asia, to Europe, and Hawaii, but am now lost with all this information. Who else to turn to, but the purse forum!

If you ladies have any ideas for me.. please drop off a message! TIA

waikiki (honolulu, oahu, hawaii) is my favourite place to go around that time of year. its just the greatest.. we go every year. loads of ppl wear santa hats on christmas and its so cute. the buzz around the place is awesome. great food, great entertainment, great SHOPPING, great atmosphere, great weather (with a few sudden rain episodes that are super warm and last about 2 minutes..:P)

i'm not sure how this fits into your budget though, as i travel with a group of around 30 and my parents pay..

i stay at moana surfrider.. if you have any other questions, lemme know!

Jamaica Mon! You can go to an all inclusive and still stay within budget. I recommend Couples Negril. I will be heading there in 2 weeks.

Christmas to New Years is one of the most expensive times to travel since so many people are off work, so if I were you, I'd visit one of the discount travel websites and see what's actually in your budget right now. I'm guessing Europe and Asia are probably out. You'd probably want to visit those places during a warmer time of year anyway, though.

Hawaii would be my top pick but it is expensive (especially the food!). Maybe Mexico?

Come to Australia if you can stretch the budget. It's lovely and hot that time of year.

For the budget look at apple vacations or something like that and see if they have any sales. Maybe Hawaii will be cheaper for you in Cali. I will be in Mexico at a nice hotel in Isla mujeres with a small pool on balcony. Doesnt this sound great!!!!

If you can get a package deal with Hawaiian air, etc... Hawaii would be a great place to be!!

I remember a few years back in Maui, HI on Dec 25th... my DH and I looked at eachother and my DH says to me "I can't believe we're here in Hawaii on Christmas!" - The weather was in the low 80's - the sun was out and the air smelt like ocean water and flowers!!

We went to the beach and just took in the warmth of the sun! Basked next to the Huge Sea turtles laying on the sand... it was wonderful!! SIGH

ohh thanks everyone! All of these sounds so great. It sounds like hot weather>cold weather right now. But I've never seen soft snow before... hmm.

We still have nothing planned, my SO is the most indecisive person on this planet earth! Hopefully, we won't end up paying a ridiculous price to go somewhere. =(
