We just decided to check out Summerfest for a night next week. Has anyone here been? Is Should I bring a picnic blanket or does everyone just stand? Thanks!

Hi! There are a few Summerfests nationwide, but seeing you're from Chicago, I'm going to assume you mean the one in Milwaukee. I'm originally from Milwaukee and have been to more Summerfests than I care to acknowledge.

Picnic blankets are allowed, I think. http://www.summerfest.com/flash/#app...electedIndex=8

When Summerfest first started, people even brought picnic baskets and camped out on the grass of the amphitheater to listen to the bands play, but they stopped allowing baskets years ago. There's plenty of food, and drink for sale of course.

Summerfest can get crowded, but it's been a Milwaukee staple for 40 years now, so it's very well-run and organized. If you're still interested in attending, this video appeared in this morning's Journal Sentinel (the Milwaukee daily). http://www.jsonline.com/
