St Kitts and Nevis. They are usually a fairly quick hop from the East Coast.

Nevis has an amazing Four Seasons. It has been consistently rated as one of the best hotels in the Caribbean.
There are also a few other smaller boutique-hotels too. Any of the old sugar plantations (Montpelier or Nisbett) that have been converted are lovely.

I am actually thinking of staying at the Four seasons in Navis!! It is so annoying to get to this island but I think it will be worth it. I would love to hear other recommendations for Nevis.. Restaurants, Things to do....

In terms of getting there ... you can usually do it with one layover if you are from the NYC area. You can also do a direct flight from Philly. It'll take you right to St Kitts. Then I believe there is a private boat ride over to Nevis. It seems like a pain, but the view is just amazing and the water is pretty calm too.
The beaches of Nevis are fantastic. They're usually fairly empty, so it feels like you have the whole thing to yourself.
If you do decide to go, you must go to Sunshine's and have a Killer Bee.
Honestly, I am not as familiar with Nevis as I am with St Kitts. I lived in St Kitts for a year and did go over to Nevis occassionally, but usually only for a quick daytrip.

After going to Hawaii twice my BF and I are going to the Caribbean in January > St. Thomas, Barbados, Dominica, St Kitts, St Lucia and St. Marteen. I would also love to go to Cayman Islands. You can't go wrong with anywhere in the Caribbean.

in hawaii, there is NOTHING like the four seasons on lanai. the scenery is drop dead spectacular and the hotels aren't overrun by families with tons of kids (no offense to those with children). it is a true vacation without the tourist clutter.

Hawaii (especially Oahu) is overrated.

I've heard great things about the Cayman, Bora Bora, and Thailand.

I can personally recommend Boracay in the Philippines. It is AMAZING. Clear water, flour-like sand, perfect weather, the hotels are great- I especially love Discovery Shores and Sangri-La. Lots of water activities..but nothing beats just laying around on the beach, tanning and getting waited on by the butlers at the hotel.

Ditto, ditto, ditto!! Boracay is one of my very favorite places on the planet! Gorgeous white sand beach, beautiful, clear, warm water! It is *quite* a long trip from the East Coast of the United States, though.

Kauai is gorgeous! Some of the most beautiful coastlines and incredibly friendly people.

Turks and Caicos is my pick!
I've been there twice and very close to NY

I wish I were there right now, but with two sons under 3, it won't be happening anytime soon

When you do make your chioce, use tripadvisor.com for help on where to stay/go etc. Its a very helpful website

Have a Great Trip where ever you decide to go
