I'm heading to Europe next week and will be staying one day in London. I'm already planning to go to the Tower of London, Westminister Abbey, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Big Ben and maybe Tate Modern.
Given my tight schedule, I would still like to visit either Hyde Park or Regent's Park. Where do you guys recommend I go? |

I prefer Regent's Park, but if you are going to be at Buckinham Palace anyway, you may wish to just walk down St. James, through Green Park, Hyde Park. It will be closer for you.

that's an extremely tight schedule and you'll be hard pressed to fit all that in, i could spend a whole day in the tate modern alone
i'd skip the london eye if it's not a clear day, the ride itself only takes half an hour but queuing time can add up quickly. then again it is a nice walk from the tate modern and you can fit in big ben and westminster abbey pretty easily while you're in the area. actually now that i think about it you could probably do all of what you planned but you'll be going at a very fast pace. i agree that hyde park will be more convenient but again if it's not a nice day it's not the most fun place to be

I vote for Hyde Park. It's part of Kensington Park also, and it's HUGE, but beautiful. Walk over to the V&A and see Albert's memorial/statue...it's absolutely beautiful, especially in the evening at sunset! Are you going to be there in the evening? I'd try to go to Piccadilly Circus if you can even if just for a moment...it's Londons version of Broadway/Times Square...it's obviously much smaller than NY, but it's worth a short trip to go see! Oh, and if you have any interest in the Rosetta Stone, go to the British Museum quickly. When you walk in, I believe it's to the left and it's going to be the first thing you see when you walk into the room! I think you can do everything you've planned, I basically did everything you did (minus the Tate Modern) in one day. Have fun!!!

Thank you so much for the advice guys! :)
annanas: Thanks for the heads up. I might skip going on the London eye then since it's going to rain tomorrow. |

I would say neither park....your schedule is already action packed.
