Idea for TPF travel forum..not sure if this was already done

Summer time is a very busy travel time for all of us, and fall can be just as crazy with many TPFers relocating for school, new jobs, etc. I am not sure if this exists, but was wondering how people felt about maybe putting a sticky or just a thread with TPFer recommendations for a particular city. For example, (and this is mostly for selfish reasons :) ) I am moving back to DC after a few years in NY, and need tons of new recs for fun restaurants, mani pedi places, cute new bars, SA names at specific boutiques, etc. I could post in every single forum, but would love it if there was a post within a larger thread for cities and TPFers could maybe contribute to the thread with maybe a brief review or just the name and location of the place. This is especially helpful if you are going to shop in a city and would love the name of someone's favorite SA, or want a quick bite to eat, or a fancy fabulous cocktail.

Is this something any of you are interested in? Maybe there could just be one big thread, with separate posts for cities. I would be more than happy to edit the posts and add the info in as I receive it by PM or email.

A good idea though I think the thread will attract too vast a choice of getaways. For me, for example, summertime is beautiful a refreshing change from the cold, unlikely I'll go out of the state. I think I'll get suggestions quicker through many established online sites dedicated to this like Virtual Tourist, Travelocity etc.

I might do this when I am done studying for the bar :) I think people would really get use out of the "in the know" type places and personal recommendations that you will only find from people living in the city. We'll see.. :)

Oops I meant to type Traveladvisor. That's where I get most of my travel advice from before making trips.
