Hello Everybody! For the most part, we will be in Nice and Paris. I want to know some places to pick out restaurants to eat, Expensive ones that are really worth the money and have amazing flavors and we can truly enjoy and also some cheaper places for the day time like around $10 a meal for each person etc. I enjoy crepes, I love them if anyone knows of a yummy place, or some yummy day deli's?
Any Recommendations? I've read that a lot of tpf'ers have been to Paris and the Riviera! ![]() Can you recommend a list of must see/do's while in Nice and Paris? We'll be in mostly in Nice & Paris but also Amsterdam for 2 days Also, if anyone has jotted down the name of any good restaurants you visited, cafes, dance clubs, lounges, evening activites...and of course: Where is the best shopping at? Please direct me where to go... flea markets, specific stores, etc...pretty much anything you can recommend that made a lasting impression. I may not get the chance to go back for a year or so and want to cover all my bases. First 3 days I will be in Nice, next 3 days Paris, then 2 days in Amsterdam and back to Paris again for 6 more days!!! Oh and also what are some of the best areas to stay in Paris besides George V and place vendome? I have't been to paris before and I am so excited!I appreciate any and all Input!!! Thank you so much!!!![]()

Here is my post from another thread about food:
We ate at "Bouef Sur Le Toit" located on Rue du Colisee and it was excellent. We asked our concierge where we could get traditional French food. We had the escargot in a buttery sauce (not sure it was on the menu other than cold snails so they prepared it for us). They were excellent and some of the best escargot I've ever had. We also ordered the Beef Tartare-it was done by hand right by our table. Overall excellent food, unique atmosphere. We'll definitely go back there next time we're in Paris. There is also a little place right on the corner near the Eiffel Tower on the North side of Ave Montaigne (blanking on the name). Everything here was great as well and at night with the tower all lit up it was beautiful. You can see the entire thread here: Restaurants in Paris |

In paris you can eatvery wel in the part of the city called cartier latin. It'sa cheap neighbourhood where locals and students eat.
In Amsterdam all the exspensive house are at the P.C. Hoofdstraat. (Vuitton,Gucci,Tods,Armani, boss,Cartier you name it. You can have a nice meal at a bistro calles maxies. You can also eat cheap Indonesian food there at the restaurant called Sama Sebo. I woul definately book a boot trip to see the canals and also the anne frank house is really amazing. If you are looking for traditional european flair you can book a hotel at the Amstel hotel. For a more modern look you can go to the Okura hotel (both are 5 stars)

My recs are for Paris:
Pierre Herme for desserts and macaroons. We also had delicious croissants at Poilane (I think.) I loved the falafel at L'Aus du Fallafel for a 7 euro meal. We also had great tapas and fresh seafood (yum scallop on the shell). I can find the tapas place for you if you want the name. And I can get you the approximate location of the seafood place, but don't know the name. Both these places were more expensive around $100-150 euro meals, and not famous, but very good food. We found our worst dinner of the trip was a recommendation in a guide book, and some of our best were found by wandering around. I love Paris, I want to go back!

My favorite reasonably priced restaurant in Paris is Cote Seine. I think we ate there 3 times, it was so good. I can't say exactly if it falls in your price range but it sure was good and well worth the $$.
