Freaking out - Spirit air

I was just looking over my itinerary for my Bahamas trip in 10 days and happen to do a search on the airline, Spririt Air. It was HORRIBLE, there are blogs about how bad it is.

I'm so nervous now that the trip could get messed up. It's tough enough traveling with a toddler, delays and cancelled flights would be really unpleasant.

I know that you don't go write a blog about how your plane landed on time, so I'm hoping it's just the 1% thing, but can anyone reassure me by telling they've flown them successfully?

I've flown Spirit Air round trip twice successfully - don't worry! It is a discount airline so don't expect it to be the most comfortable or best service...but both times I flew Spirit Air my flights were on time :) Don't worry :)

I think you also have to consider why flights are cancelled - if it's weather-related or mechanical, there's not much the airline could have done to prevent it, KWIM?

I don't know anything about Spirit Air, never having flown it, but ITA with Carmen82 that discount carriers usually offer only bare-bones service, so keep your expectations low and you might not be disappointed.

I've never had a problem with Spirit. You can find lots and lots of bad reviews for any airline. Just don't worry about it - have a fun trip & a fruity drink on the beach for me!

ITA, it's a discount air line but it's not terrible. I've never had a problem with it.

I've never had problems with them either & I've flown with them a couple of times too

Very good to hear. I know it's a discount airline. I'm not expecting white glove service, if I get there somewhat on time, I'll be happy!
