Default Food help for Vegas please!
The BF and I are taking our engagement weekend in Vegas :) I want it to be a nice experience without spending too much money so I thought I'd enlist your help for a mix of places to visit. We're going to be there from Sat afternoon until Mon afternoon, so I'm thinking some cheap buffets, 1-2 nice buffets, and 1 nice sit down place (preferably ~$100 or under).

I read some of the other threads on Vegas and I'm going to look into Il Mulino for lunch. Looking forward to your suggestions!

I really like the buffet at the Hilton (not on the strip; it's near the Convention Center). The line is usually shorter, the selection of food for the price is great. We always stop by Hilton for the buffet brunch or dinner when we visit Vegas.

If you want a nicer buffet, you can check out Bellagio. The line is always super long though, so be prepared to wait about an hour.

For a nice restaurant, we like the restaurant on top of Paris hotel. I can't think of its name right now, but it's pretty well-known. It faces Bellagio Fountain, so you get to enjoy your dinner and watching the fountain show at the same time

You can go to the Wynn and sign up for their players card...you get to spin a prize wheel...one of the common prizes is buffet for two :)

Good luck

Ooo- that'd be awesome. I did some research and Aladdin's/Spice Market has a wheel, too so I def want to do that and the buffet at the Wynn. I ate at the Wynn buffet last time and it was AMAZING- I couldn't believe how many dessert choices they had. I can't wait for LV even though it's still over a month away. The bf and I are pathological planners so we're using excel to keep track! Lol.

Is the one at the Bellagio nicer than the one at the Wynn? They have the exact same rating on yelp, both with over 200 reviews and are the same price. Decisiooooooons.

I think the restaurant is called top of the world? I remember seeing it when i was planning a trip for one of our partners (who had a much bigger budget). It'll be on our list of places to research- if we're going to be spending that much- we're going to research the heck out of it.

Our newspaper (LVRJ) even recommends this for lunch. Pricing is very high for dinner, but they claim very reasonable at lunch. The food is outstanding.

Are you going to have a car? The #1 Thai restaurant in the US ( according to many foodie magazines) is Lotus of Siam at 953 E. Sahara - it is in a dumpy old strip mall. They have a buffet but people say its too generic & you need to order off the menu. Don't let its location or appearance steer you alway, the food is outstanding. Its also not that far off the strip.

For a very old time LV experience, there's Pamplemousse. Its at 400 E. Sahara also near the strip. Very short walk from the Sahara hotel. Its in a tiny pink house. French cuisine, the owner lives part of the year in France. Food is good & pricing is very reasonable. Entrees come with a HUGE basket of fresh veggies with house dressing & olives. Entree's run $25.00 to $35.00 Desserts about $5.00 You can easily eat here for about $100.00 with wine. Once in awhile they get really busy or have a wedding reception & they close the restaurant. So you might want to make reservations. (702) 733-2066 Right next door to this is a store that sells the strip hotels etc. all their stone & jewelry items. Its really worth going to. The name escapes me right now, maybe LV jewelry & gem.

I tried both Bellagio and the Wynn.. Personally, I liked the food at Bellagio better. I just really hated waiting in the long line

here's the restaurant I was talking about: http://www.eiffeltowerrestaurant.com/ I wish I had pictures to show you. For some reason, I didn't take any pictures when I was there.. But, if you go to Tripadvisor, you can see pictures of the restaurant, food and the view that people posted. It's quiet pricey, but it's one of those things that you should do at least once when you're in Vegas, you know what I mean?

Btw, congratulations on your engagement

Congrats, of course I have to make my recommendation for Fiamma Trattoria & Bar at the MGM Grand. Mmmmm. Awesome Italian food. We're having our wedding reception there!

Congrats on your engagement!

I really liked the Bellagio buffet. However, my absolute favorite place that I have eaten in Vegas is Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay

I second Lotus of Siam. When I went to Vegas last December, my friend and I specifically sought out this restaurant because of all the raves and reviews. They have a really good crispy rice appetizer unlike anything else I've ever had!

On that trip, we also tried 3 buffets- Bellagio (dinner), Wynn (lunch), and Paris (brunch). The Wynn had candied apples for dessert, so that was fun to try But our favorite ended up being the Paris buffet. I really liked their quiches

Yes, Lotus of Siam is great. But Vegas Long Legs is right - don't let the location scare you!

Of all the buffets I've tried, the Rio was my favorite. I think it was featured on the Food Network, too, but all I can say is make sure you go hungry!!
