Thumbs up best singapore or bangkok hotel for location and shopping purposes!

Hey ladies! I have decided to start checking on hotels in Singapore and Bangkok. Please reccomend a 5 star or good 4 star hotel in both cities that is convenient for walking around things and shopping! I am not as much interested for sea view etc as for good location for shopping and going out! Price at the moment is not an issue at is is only for 3 days and If it is worth it I will splurge!

Thank you in advance

Plenty of 5 star hotels in Singapore!!!!! You want 6 star there is the Ritz Carlton!!!!
Ok one of the better 5 star hotels shoppers lurrrve is the Hyatt Hotel along Scotts Rd which is couple mins walk to Orchard Rd. Lots of malls around that Hyatt. Then there's Mandarin Hotel, and further down the road there are Raffles Hotel, Swissotel, Pan Pacific, and Oriental.

Don't stay at Hilton/Orchard Hotel/Orchard Parade Hotel, that area has shady business going on... illegal prostitution and such. Not very safe after dark either.

For shopping in Singapore, definitely Orchard Road so IMO, Marriotts Hotel would be good as it's the most centralised. HTH! :)

If you don't mind walking a little further, try the St. Regis. It's still along Orchard Road, but slightly further away from the main shopping malls. (About a 10-15 min walk?)

There is also the Four Seasons Hotel, which is located near to the Hermes flagship, and is closer to the main malls than St. Regis. Not sure how many stars it is though!

Actually when are you intending to go btw, Hyatt and Marriot might not be ideal spots since there's major building contracts going on right now and might continue for another year, one of them is immediately between these 2 hotels, and a second one is opposite the road from Marriott, so it might be a little noisy. Both hotels are close to each other. I think the work is being done 24/7 so you'd hear it all day and night. I am Singaporean and my last visit was few weeks ago, I lived at an apartment behind Marriott and could hear the noise all day it sucked during an afternoon nap!

The Fairmont is very nice. It's on top of the City Hall MRT station and so it's only 1-2 stations away from Orchard Road.

In singapore, marriot is a good choice cause it seems like the most centralised hotel here.
Raffles hotel is slightly nearer at the CBD (business) area.

By the way, in singapore most 4-5 stars hotel are mostly in town or near town area. And dont worry about transport cause singapore is really small. It will take you last then 45 minutes travelling form one end to another. Haha.

Don't worry about getting about.....the MRT is efficient and cheap, and you can hail an air-conditioned taxi easily, if you can't take the humidity!!

Raffles is absolutely glorious and there's an LV there!! LOL!!

the fullerton is lovely, it's not bang in the middle of the shopping but a taxi to orchard road from what i remember was about US$3-4 so i wouldn't worry about proximity too much. they had the most amazing room service menu

I think Hyatt at Scotss or Mandarin near Takashimaya is the best place to stay if you aim to shop around Orchard area.

Raffles Hotel and Swissotel are a very nice hotel .. and it just in the Raffles shopping centre and CBD area ..
