I spent a month in Australia a few years ago and here would be my must-sees:
1) Frasier Island- You can spend a few days on a jeep driving around this gorgeous island with sand dunes and lakes, and you can stay at one of the few hotels on the island or rent camping gear.
2) Sail the whitsunday islands. I did a 2 day sail trip, but there are also day trips. Just make sure to get to Whitehaven beach- if you ever picture a perfect white sand deserted beach with clear blue waters, this is the place to be!
3) Sydney- the Botanical gardens, the Opera House, Bondi Beach were all my faves.
4) Blue Mountains- Soooo beautiful. I did an afternoon hike and took the tram back up to the top. I remember it being so scenic and pretty.
5) Other cities and small towns I visited that I really enjoyed include Melbourne, Byron Bay, Cairns, Port Douglas.

Have a great trip!
