Default Any tips for packing jewelry?

Hi all! I'm getting to take a trip next month and I'm wondering if any of you have any tips/tricks that you use to pack your necklaces and bracelets. Whenever I travel I try to keep them from getting tangled up but it always seems to happen. I'm sure there's an easy way to prevent this but I haven't came up with anything yet.

Have any of you ladies found a way to keep your jewelry tangle free while traveling?

Thanks!

i normally pack my jewelry individually in the tiny satchel bags that came with it, and then into a cosmetic case.

In a jewelry box with soft compartments specially for rings, necklaces, and earrings. AND in my handcarry luggage where I can see it.

Hmmm. A cheap jewelry travel case might not be a bad idea. Thanks!

I use this leather jewelry portfolio from Red Envelope (redenvelope.com)

It has many pockets, compartments, etc., holds a lot and is soft-sided and easy to pack in carry-on bags or a big purse.

I have the jewelery case from Louis Vuitton - its very easy to use for everything! If on budget - i saw some nice cases at Winners (Toronto). Try one that is flat - so its easier to pack

I read in this article that you can store necklaces in straws to keep them from tangling. I'm not really sure how it would all work, but seems like a decent idea.
