Default Yves Saint Laurent Perforated Leather Zipped Tote
We may be in the midst of Fall and Winter right now, but all I can think about are spring bags. We are finishing up our week in NYC and have been previewing some of the most amazing spring collections I have seen in a long long time. Two trends we are seeing that I am loving are a tye-dye-like effect (Bottega Veneta and Rebecca Minkoff) and perforation (YSL and Rebecca Minkoff again).

Perforated leather. We saw Louis Vuitton do this a few seasons back and there seem to be a resurgence. I have to admit I was unsure of perforated leather, but then I saw it in person. When perforated leather is added to a handbag it gives a subtly athletic vibe, adding a slight dimension and effect that helps the leather stand out.

The Yves Saint Laurent Perforated Leather Zipped Tote is a flat design that zips all around the top. The feel is casual yet chic. The logo tag detail also gives that laid back feel. If you know me, you know I want to be able to match most everything with jeans but also have the option of dressing it up a bit. This bag may be more of a jean and tee shirt look, but I have a feeling it could be dressed up as well. Only thing missing that I would love to see is a long cross-body messenger strap. Because that would gives this handbag the exact vibe I adore. Pre-order through Saks for $1,495.

It's definitely a . A 3 on a scale of 1-10.

As a rule, I don't like tall bags that are more narrow at the top than the bottom. It makes getting things in and out more of a hassle.

I see a suitcase or the back of a car seat when I look at this bag. The shape isn't flattering, the perforated leather isn't classy, the interior lining is boring, the price is high...basically, I should hate it. But for some reason, I don't. Maybe I feel sorry for the poor thing. Or maybe I don't hate it due to the "it's so ugly it's cool" phenomenon that gets to me sometimes.

I see myself, arm buried up to my shoulder, trying to find my hairbrush in the bottom of this bag while swearing under my breath.
Don't like tall bags, they frustrate me.
