![]() Every lady needs a black dress and a classy clutch to carry with it. There is something about pairing your little black dress, heels, and a killer clutch for a special night; it just makes a woman feel so sexy. A perfect elegant and classy clutch for the nights you feel super sexy could be the Roberto Cavalli Satin Print Roll Clutch. This black-and-gold satin print roll clutch is encircled by a gold serpent. An optional thin gold shoulder strap accompanies the clutch. I know the price tag is far from lovely, but a girl can dream; and sometimes a girl can splurge if she is bringing sexy back. Buy it through Net-A-Porter for $1065. |

Reminds me of something Ivana Trump would wear. I don't like it.

I love Art Nouveau and serpent bracelets, so I love it!
In fact, I've had my eye on it for a while! ![]() Very Baroque 'n' Roll for A/W, if it was worn with black!

Does the Art Nouveau pattern not remind anyone of the Biba trademark? A very similar pattern is used on their labels etc-. I do like it though.

I like the detailing, but not entirely in love with the pattern/color combination.

Absolutely. As you may already know, Biba (and other companies of that era) were inspired by late 19th - early 20th Century Art Nouveau designs, as well. As Biba were also inspired by what came before, it can't be viewed as plagiarism. ETA: Biba's celebrated art-nouveau logo, designed by John McConnell in 1966 – and often said to be Celtic knotwork, but in fact a printer's mark from a book of Scandinavian typefaces – became a part of the Swinging Sixties, but Biba differed from the elitist world of the early hippies and beautiful people by making itself accessible to as many people as possible. Where earlier boutiques, such as Hung On You, Granny Takes A Trip, and I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet, are often remembered as intimidating and absurdly expensive, Biba sold affordable clothes to shop girls and typists, a development George Melly sums up as 'a democratic version of Mary Quant'. |

HeHeHe!
I gave in and bought it! I thought I'd missed it (it sold out just before I tried to buy it on the International NAP site and was sold out in all the RC stores), but I found it on US NAP and managed to secure one before it sold-out there, too. I hope I receive it OK and that it's in good shape, otherwise I'll feel like I have missed out twice! Is there a hopeful smiley?

I got it and it's even more gorgeous IRL.
Larger than I assumed it would be, with more detail on the fabric and yet it seems more subtle, somehow. I'll try to take pics tomorrow, if I can.
