Default Rafe New York Zippered Glazed Leather Hobo
Zippers, I like. Buckle detailing, I like. However, there is one question I have to ask. Is there too much of a good thing going on with this bag? The Rafe New York Zippered Glazed Leather Hobo is a gorgeous bag yet the detailing might have gone just a bit too far. I like the shiny-glazed leather hobo. The deep, rich red color is divine and I do love the way the brushed goldtone hardware pops against the shiny leather. Yet, the over use of details still proves bothersome.

Some might call the zippers edgy or catchy, but it does nothing but make the bag look far too busy. Since there are so many things I do like about the bag, I decided to give it a second chance and attempt to see if it could work. While I kept looking at it, all I wanted was to erase some of the zippers. In fact, if the zippers along the front and the back of the bag were gone, this would be an entirely different bag and I would have nothing bad to say about it. Maybe it’ll grow on me, what do you think? Buy through Nordstrom for $475.

No, I don't think it will grow on you. What were they thinking?

I agree! I don't want to see another useless zipper on a bag!

And what is Diana Vreeland's rule? Please go remove 2 things from this bag, and then we'll see.

Ah, yet another older blog entry that I did not even bother to comment on in the past because the bag simply didn't do anything for me.

The color is nice, but that's it.

Not my style--I'm not into hobos, so I wouldn't carry this bag--but...

...I must be a freaK kuz unlike everyone else I actually like it.
I love hardware in bags, so I think the zippers and belts on this
bag are fun. And the leather has a glossy look I like a lot.

So from me.

I keep getting the urge to just close up that front zipper.... Your fly is open, lovely bag!

^ LOL! I felt the same way when I first saw it! It would probably drive me nuts if I had to sit at a magazineless waiting room somewhere or a bus and all I had to play with was the bag...

I like it. I have an obsession with the useless zippers being used as decoration. I love the color and the gold accented hardware. It's beautiful.
