Default Petunia Pickle Bottom Dogwood Blossom Bag

Petunia Pickle Bottom Dogwood Blossom Bag

It has been a while since I have paid homage to the momma's with babies out there. It is kinda funny, because you would think I pay more attention to it all- seeing that I am a part time nanny of sorts. I watch the most adorable little girl who has a baby brother or sister on the way. Ask me about all the latest DVD's, toys, and craze for the life of a 2 year old, I know it. Right now I am starting to think of a baby bag for the expecting mom. For a late spring/early summer baby, a bag adorned with flowers is practical and fun just like the Petunia Pickle Bottom Dogwood Blossom Bag. All that is packed into this bag is what is truly important for a mom with baby on hip, but the color arrangement is beautiful, including a brown/teal/raspberry/tan floral brocade. The slue of add-ons include a shoulder strap with a cell phone holder, a key clip, front and side pockets, a detachable stinky diaper pouch (we know how bad the smell gets), water-resistant liner making it easy to clean, four bottle pockets, a wipe case, a changing station, and ample room at 14"H x 15"W x 4 1/2"D. The price is right ($175 through Neiman Marcus), and in my opinion the bag has all a mom could want. What do you mother's think?

i think the fabric is a little too fussy and old mama"ish". I prefer a lighter or brighter print when with the baby. Caveat here is these brocades are to be dry cleaned only... not extremely practical... BUT it is very well thought out.. I have one in silver beige brocade .. and always watch (from the corner of my eyes as my attention on baby )...how fellow parents in the changing rooms gawk when I deftly unzip and roll out the changing mat , put baby on it and pull out the diapers from the bag station behind baby's head! I do feel the changing mat is too small for squirmy babies and I lay another plastic sheet below the mat to protect the brocade plus as protection for my baby's little fingers when he reaches wide out over the little Petunia mat.

I just had a baby 3 months ago and searched forever for the perfect diaper bag. I considered getting a Petunia but I agree the patterns are too much and it says "I AM A DIAPER BAG!!" My friends rave about how comfortable they are and how "cute" they look.
I know that is what its supposed to be, but I like the diaper bag to be a Mommy bag as well. Something in plain black or brown leather, more like a tote. I finally settled on a black leather tote/diaper bag from Coach. It has compartments inside and a changing mat.

I have quite a few diaper bags in different styles. Aside from my Coach and Fleurville (to name a few) I own 2 Petunia Pickle Bottoms. I love them. So cute and trendy and functional as well. I've waited a long time to be a mommy and so I flaunt my mommy status with diaper bags. I have had many years prior and have many years ahead to carry totes and bags just for me. I love my mommy status and love the fun and trendy totes and other accessories that are now being made for hip mommas!!!

Thanks for posting this Megs. I was looking for a cool momma bag for a friend that's expecting shortly. I want to get her something that fun, functional but yet sets her apart from the other momma's. I fell in love with the PPP Miso Lovely Touring tote, it doesn't look so much like a diaper bag than a cool handbag, the pattern is pretty and I think it'll be a big hit at the shower. I'm not sure about functionality, I guess I will have to see it in person.

While pregnant, I got an expensive Coach diaper bag. When I delivered, the one I ended up using all the time was my free nylon diaper bag from the hospital. It was functional, insulated, lots of pockets, zip top, and black (so DH could carry it comfortably).

I loved carrying my cheap, free, nondescript bag. Really, how long do you plan to use diaper bags? One, two years?? The main difference between a "diaper" bag and not is that mat they give you to change the baby. Not a big deal. Instead of having to "baby wipe" the mat after every outing, I just used paper towels. Baby never complained. If he didn't like it, he probably still will survive the trauma.

Save up your money and celebrate motherhood by getting something for yourself, truly for yourself. You've gained weight, experienced childbirth, lost breast pads in public and walked around with spots on your shirts from leaky breasts. You wonder if your postpartum incontinence will ever get better, are doing sitz baths twice a day, Kegel exercises, and sitting on a donut cushion for your hemorrhoids.

Splurge on something you love. Of all the fab bags on this web site, and you want to carry around this???

I've got my eye out for a Jimmy Choo Ramona. Oh yeah...

My niece is expecting and I already ordered a bag for her--wish I'd seen this before. I assume they come in more patterns and colors 'cause I can't see most modern moms getting this pattern. It looks like a well-designed bag, tho.
