Default Mulberry Elgin Tote

Mulberry Elgin Tote

How do you like your totes? Are you someone who prefers it longer or taller? My preference is for a longer tote, but sometimes a taller tote catches my eye and is also appealing. One of the taller totes that has my attention is the Mulberry Elgin Tote. Mulberry has made its way into many of our hearts and hands and this tote is simple but fashionable with its brass buckles and buckle strap closures. The tote is designed from soft pebble leather and is shown off by contrast stitching. For carrying, there are two shoulder straps with a 71⁄4" drop which should be ample room to fit under the arm. Measuring 131⁄4"H X 12"L X 53⁄4"W , this tote shows that its height and length are not hugely different, but from an outsiders eye the dimensions seem to be much easier to differentiate. After opening the buckle strap closure, there is a zip pocket and suede lining. I'm a fan of the buckle and strap detailing on this bag. Buy it through Saks for $995.

I love it...I am loving Mulberry more and more as time goes by. My one only complaint is that I think I would love this bag more if the handles were slightly shorter.

I love Mulberry and really want to have one, preferably a Phoebe though.
I prefer a longer/wider tote instead of a tall one.

Just curious if anyone on the forum has this bag and how they like it? Do the handles fit well over the shoulder? I love the oak color and it does look so practical...I've been kind of eyeing it lately

I have tried the bag on at the store. It fits well over the shoulders even with a winter coat on. However, it is quite a big bag, and the base is quite broad. I felt swamped by the bag, but i'm kinda petite..wish they had made it slightly smaller!

Thanks for the input. It's actually good for me if a bag is big because I tend to carry a lot of stuff around--I don't use my smaller bags much. I do love the Roxanne a little bit more, but I like it best in the oak color and that doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I did look on the mulberry website and it does seem that they could take an order for it, but I'm not sure how long that would take and I hate to pay the markup of having to pay the VAT tax or whatever. This tote looks lovely and practical; I could really see myself using it regularly. If anyone else has it, more input would be great!

I think i like it, but i'm not entirely sure if it's my style...it looks a little too long. Nice, but long.

I'm finding (since i became the proud owner of 2 Mulberry bags ) that my Rosemary is just perfect in size, length and width for all i need...i carry a mobile phone, filofax, large purse, keys and a small wallet - a bag that was any longer or heavier and i think that i would be dragging on the floor!

Is the base of the Elgin solid (cardboard insert) like the Phoebe, does anyone know?

Ooh! I really like it, but I would like it moreso if it weren't so tall. The color and buckles are just my taste though.

The leather looks so yummy! This bag is probably too long for me, I'm only 5'4'' and it would look weird on me.

Beautiful orange/terracotta colour. I like the shape as well - I've always preferred taller totes. And the leather looks superb. Very nice. :)
