That Louis Vuitton keep reinventing themselves and their seemingly endless collections of bags and luggage, that is no secret at all. New colors here and there, new spin-offs of the traditional and very popular Monogram Canvas come to mind. Iíve said it before, Iíll say it again. I donít dig the traditional canvas at all, I get sick of seeing it on the streets and having to automatically wonder if itís a faux or not. While I do like some of the derivates that LV has released lately, some I totally still canít stand at all, vis the Cerises for example. However, and here comes the big but, I really like the Monogram Mini in black. The black canvas with silverish LV monograms just does it for me. Megs likes it, too - I share her opinion that it looks much more sophisticated than the cerise shade, or any others that the MM had been released in thus far.

Prime example - the LV Cabas Mary Kate. The $1k tote sports a young and trendy look and can function well as a casual & daily tote for urban biz meetings or other work-related jazz. The double zipper adds convenience and quick access, and extra inner pockets give enough room for cell and misc bag junk.

Is it just me or do any of you wonder if this bag is named after Mary Kate Olsen?? :)

Well, I think the bag has been named after MK Olsen, but it seems like Louis Vuitton is doing the same in the shoes' collection. For example, this sneaker (with the Monogram Mini canvas) is named after Britney Spears!

Britney's style is far from Vuitton customers' average style, I don't know exactly the point of this naming a shoe after her, but maybe it is just a strategy to give a younger appeal to the brand

Ouch, naming a shoe after BS? No offense to any of her fans, but I don't think of her very highly - to say it nicely. Looks to me like LV is selling out just a tad perhaps?

...and the Olsen twins? Please. Their spotlight highpoint was when they were still 17 and the honry male masses were counting down the seconds 'til they'd be eligible for a Playboy shoot. What's LV doing, sheesh?

I agree with Vlad, LV does seem to be selling out. Im down with the sporty look and every Northshore soccer mom will have to get an LV gym bag. But its hard to wear Spears shoes...though funny to make them tell you what the name of the shoe is!!

For as "classic" as LV should be, this is a bad move by them. Their brand has been one of the big ones for ages, and if they simply start to bring themselves to the pop-culture, then I think they are selling out as well. Everyone loved them for their classic bags and high standards, but with the fakes and now naming after a person like BS (yikes) their company seems to be going down the drain

I don't really fancy the Mono Mini in black. But I guess it grows on you. :)

I like the new look- but like I said before, the name is throwing me off! It's taking away the classic appeal of LV

I like it -trendy enough for a young professional. But I do agree they should shy away from the celeb names unless it's a bag invented ESPECIALLY for that person. (Like Guerlain "L'Interdit" perfume and Chanel No.5 were created specifically for Audrey and Marilyn before released to the masses. Now that's different.)

I don't mind it. I like it better than the usual LV colours.
