Judith Leiber Violin Minaudiere

Many people don't know a lot about me, even my friends. Many don't assume that I could ever be a good cook, but amazingly I actually am (it's just the cleaning up after that I'm not fond of). Along with being a good cook, I used to be musically inclined. My mom was big on all of us playing some sort of instrument, so we all started with piano quite young. Don't tell my teacher, but I never actually read the music. I just played by memory. And then in grade school I became part of an Orchestra and started playing the string bass and violin. Amazing also eh? I bet most of you didn't even know that about me! (Well duh!). So for any of the other musically inclined ladies who love a clutch that makes a statement and has a lot of bling, Judith Leiber is the designer for you. The Judith Leiber Violin Minaudiere is a violin look alike clutch with a golden frame and made with perfectly colored Austrian crystals. I actually would just love the matching pill box, although it is not sold-separate. This novelty closes with a push-lock closure and measures 3 1/2"H x 7 1/2"W x 2 1/5"D. Ornate bling on the verge of gaudiness in my eyes- but still able to be pulled off for a night out or a red carpet event this clutch is available through Bergdorf Goodman for $3,895.

That is VERY pretty... *sigh* so much detail and color matching has gone into the big clutch!

Megs, if you're lusting for it and know where I can find a violin-shaped pill box, let me know! I crystalize stuff PT to earn $ for tuition fees, and I can try to put together a pill box for you, a la Leiber...although we'll have to see if I'm able to get the multi-color gradient right, but if you prefer just a warm topaz, and a couple of browns, it can be easily done.

I just thought I'd try to thank you with this, on behalf of the forum. All the marketplace and other drama has taken away from the PF, which is a great support place for handbag lovers of all kind. Let me know if you'd be interested.

Lovely...but not my style. I think Judith Leiber's bags are amazing, but I prefer simpler shapes.

I used to play the violin (to grade 6), so I suppose I should be lusting after this, but I'm afraid I'm not!

I like some of the other Judith Leiber purses, such as the fruit purses, though.

By the way, just to be pedantic, it really isn't the correct shape, at all!

Lovely clutch but I think I'd look funny with it. I would love to own it though.

Looks more like a String Bass than a violin IMO

I just wanted to let you all know that NM's 100th anniversary is this fall and Judith Leiber has created a limited edition exclusive for NM. I haven't seen it yet but I heard it is gorgeous. If there are any collectors out there be sure to get your name on a waiting list b/c they have already started them
