![]() If there were an award for Queen of Handbag Justification, it would most likely go to me (ok, lies - I am sure some of you would totally out do me, especially some of the ladies of tPF ). Either way finding a bag that is reversible or comes with a small pouch or folds over completely 100% helps me justify a handbag. Call it part of the litigator in me from a very long line of lawyers and judges in my family. For this reason, the Jimmy Choo Metallic Foldover Clutch is justifiable in my mind not only because it has a perfect champagne Italian leather colo, but also because it can be folder over to take the shape of a true clutch, or opened up to store something a little larger. Standing out is the perfectly bold gold tone hardware, outside zip pocket, and practially non-essential removable wrist strap. The price is exactly why I justify this bag to be two separate entities. A clutch for $825 is pricey, but for $413 for *each* version, is more feasible. Via Saks for $825. |

Hmmm.....it's OK, but I'm never completely convinced about the whole fold-over thing.
I think you can pretty much always tell, from looking at a fold-over bag, that it is one, because you, almost invariably, end up with two compromised looking designs; probably because that is what they are! I'm also not convinced that you wouldn't end up (or start off!) with a permanent bend, or even worse a crease, in the leather.....in which case, I'd probably just end up using it in its, rather sub-standard looking, clutch guise. So, unless you regularly go out at night and then invariably want to go shopping, on the way home on foot (when you don't care what your [creased] bag looks like), what's the point? ![]()

^ Sorry, I thought my post was self explanatory.
I mean, that if, like me, one doesn't want to carry an expensive bag with a pronounced bend (or crease) in it, where it has has been folded over (which may spoil the look of it), then, presumably, the only real use for it, in its unfolded shape, would be at times when one doesn't particularly care what the bag one is carrying looks like; but one just, suddenly, needs an emergency larger bag. This would, presumably, most often occur when one is out, otherwise, if one is at home and needs a larger bag, why wouldn't one just switch to a larger bag, with no folds, or creases, in it? This situation would also, for most people, occur mainly at night (or in the morning after a night out, after staying over with someone); as small clutches are generally carried, by most people, at night (although, I do carry mine during the day, sometimes). So, from my point of view, I would only ever use it as a small, folded over clutch and for that reason, I would rather buy a more attractive, unfolded, clutch. Hope that clarifies things! ![]()

I love this JC bag...but technically, it is 412.50 per usage style. Just sayin'.
