I have not been one to carry a big hand bang / shoulder bag -- I'm 45 and still love to wear a backpack LOL -- I have a red leather Coach pack I have worn for years and have had wonderful compliments on it. Recently I have upgraded it to a much larger, yet as light if not lighter Louis Vuitton Bosphore Backpack. I find this comfortable, I feel stylish, I can carry a lot. I remember an exhibition once at the Royal Ontario Science Museum in Toronto on Health and Fashion - it is amazing what we do to our bodies, and what women have done to their bodies over the centuries for the sake of fashion - this exhibit really was eyeopening and I am not surprised that the trend to large handbags is having an affect on our generations posture etc. I had very few choices while looking for a large, light designer pack and wish more would make them -- Gucci had a couple, Channel used to make some wonderful ones but alas they told me they don't any more, Burberry has some -- here is my Louis Vuitton Bosphore - it has wide adjustable textile straps that have very good support, the bag itself is extremely light! -- would be nice if more designers get back into the trend, I'd love to expand this part of my collection :) and I have sneakers to match Lol

Yes i always used to put everything but the kitchen sink in my handbag, had a really sore shoulder. Now I am more selective in what I put in. I mean why did i need my full cosmetic bag when all I really touch up is my lipstick LOL If I want a really light bag i use my black Balenciaga City

reminds me of how much backpacks messed my back up in middle school. i switched to a large black J. Jill leather tote in high school, which was better but no vast improvement. today, while most people seem to think since i carried a large bag for so long, that i can't hack it with a smaller bag.

i used to carry around SO much crap. waterbottle, snacks, nail kit, book of phone numbers, kleenex, wallet, lighters, gum/mints, notebooks, visine, makeup, chapstick (of all kinds) omg i could go on forever... it was PACKED. i came to the realization that if i became a minimalist purse wise, my shoulders woudln't feel like death at the end of the day. i can carry my waterbottle in a kooba bonnie, and that's a tiny purse. i carry a coach mini skinny, 2 VS lipglosses, car keys, and a few phone numbers. thats IT. i don't NEED all that other stuff... HEHE and if i do, out comes my coach tote which my kooba bonnie or coach pouches fit right in.

purses have really organized my life... but seriously, watch the shoulders ladies! i WANT a big bag, but my back and shoulders DO NOT.
