I really, really want to like the DKNY Stamped Leather Clutch, but I think the embossed croc pattern is bothering me too much to embrace all of the positives of its design.

Obviously, the color is amazing. Totally gorgeous, totally appropriate for a variety of seasons, would look equally great with a sundress or a dark wool shift. But…the embossing? It makes the whole thing look a bit cheap. The clutch is leather, but the finish is so plastic-y that I’m not sure that it would be apparent in person that this was made from a material that occurs in nature. I give DKNY an A for effort and idea (and price), but a C for execution. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $185.

I am not into clutch, but I found I like this one and love its color! I agree its not-so-great embossed pattern makes its leather look man-made. I think I need see it IRL to decide.

Yes, the embossing is a bad job, but the overall design is okay.

It's a shame the mock croc isn't better, as good mock croc can be almost indistinguishable from the real thing; but I guess you just don't get really good mock croc for the price?

Agreed, and it's distracting to the color.
