dior st tropez tote

If you have ever been to the South of France or turned on your TV to hear about a luxurious beach town, then you know St. Tropez. St. Topez has become the celebrity vacation spot. Pictures will surface of A-listers hanging out on their multi-million dollar yachts while they ride up and down the beach of St. Tropez. So for a place as luxurious as it is, does the Dior St. Tropez Tote deliver? It has been many moons since we have discussed Christian Dior bags on Purse Blog because, flat out, I didn't like them. They were not worth ragging on, but they weren't appealing in the least bit. But the Dior St. Tropez Tote is straight from the Resort Line and the fuchsia quilted shiny nylon is perfect beach bag material. The price is steep for a beach bag, but when in St. Tropez you need to be showing off your luxurious side. The silver tone hardware leaves this bag with a casual look, and I love the fact that there is a front zip pocket for easy access. The top is open, which makes for easy entry for both you and the pick-pocketer who bumps into you. The dimensions are 12 1/2"H x 15 1/3"W x 4 1/3"D. While it is also available in black, I would definitely opt for fuchsia. Buy through Bergdorf Goodman for $1300.

Fab or Drab?

It's kind of boring for $1300. Though I love the color.

Nylon? YAK! And the price-simply too much. Definitely drab.

I love the color and the shape, but the price is too much for a satin bag, especially one that would not be a daily bag.

Have to say...the only Dior bags I like are the lady dior...in a tiny satin for evening...and sometimes the gaucho...although I haven't carried mine in quite a while. Don't love this bag...

Or you could spend a thousand dollars less for this satin tote bag.

OK, well the color is nice but what's with the price tag? Does $1000.00 of the price go to Breast Cancer research? THAT might make it understandable, otherwise I'm kinda embarrassed for them, for having the nerve to ask that kind of money.

I like the shape and satiny nylon material, but there's something about that Juicy Couture-esque shade of pink that I find utterly revolting.

Cute bag, but no way in hell would I pay that price for nylon. On the other hand, I was happy to pay $250 more for the black leather lambskin version that is soft as silk and a total knockout! (photo courtesy of NM)

No way I would pay that much for vinyl (not a fan of Chanel's recent vinyl creations either). The materials are not worthy of the price tag. I'm pretty loyal to leather. It's a cute tote, but I honestly wouldn't even spend more than $300 for it.
