Default Coach Python Bags

Coach Python Bags

Peer pressure works wonders. Coach, usually known for their classy up-scale, yet affordable bags, is now delving into python. It had to start sometime. With every other designer using exotic materials, Coach has decided it is their turn too. Brand new is the Coach Python Small Pocket Satchel. Personally, I don't really dig the color chosen. For their first exotic skin bag, shocking blue might be a little too risky- especially for the not so typical price tag we all associate with Coach. The inside features of the satchel include an inside zip pocket, a whatever-you-want-to-store inside pocket, and imported silk lining. The outside features show everyone else the exotic python with calfskin trim, two front and side pockets, and outside zip pocket, and brass turnlock closures. The dimensions are 10 5/8 (L) x 5 1/2 (H) x 4 5/8 (W). For about 6 times over what you are used to spending at Coach, the Coach Python Small Pocket Satchel is available for $1900 via Coach.

Along with the satchel comes the Coach Python Demi. This bag I can stomach a little more because it's not as big in size so you can get away with some bold colors a bit easier. This demi has all 3 S's. Small, Simple, and Sexy. The inside of the bag has a cell phone or multi-function pocket and is also lined with imported silk. The outside features the python with calfskin trim and a zip-top closure. The chain is quite fun- it's an 18 1/2” removable python and brass chain strap with a dogleash clip. The overall dimensions of the bag are 9 1/2 (L) x 4 5/8 (H) x 1 (W). This very small but exotic bag can be purchased for $900 through Coach.
Feedback most welcome!

Oh how exotic! I'm luvin' the Coach Python Demi more though. I think it looks more elegant.

But if I had the chance to change anything, I would have changed the zip closure. The tassel like zipper makes it look weird (cheap). Maybe for a $900 Coach bag, it should have been at least a gold tone zipper. But that's just me...

I am quite fond of that color - but it sure as hell ain't fall. Does Coach ever consult a calendar?

And like most low-end pedestrian stores (Gap, Banana Republic)- it only takes a few weeks before their crap gets marked down. Why anyone would pay $900 for Coach is beyond me.

I've noticed that too. Coach always puts their bags on sale. Once I bought a Coach messenger bag for $390, next month it was on sale for $75!

I always think twice about it...Almost everyone here owns a Coach bag so it isn't quite unique to wear em' frequently.

I still like Coach though. Once in a while they have cute designs that are a must have! :)

That has happened to me many a time at several stores (especially Coach, because they mark down stuff within weeks of releasing it)- my advice is to save your receipt!! Most stores have a price protection policy so if what you bought gets marked down within the period of time you can return the item, you can get it at the lower price. If I am given a difficult time about this, I just rebuy the item, and return it at the higher price.

I have saved hundreds of dollars over the years from this, and these savings have financed some lovely handbags.

I've never thought about doing that.
That sounds like a great idea. Thanks for the tip! :)

I'm not a coach fan to begin with but I couldn't see spending almost $2000 on a Coach bag. I haven't seen it in person yet so I'm not sure of the quality, but from where I'm sitting now I don't think I'll be dashing out the door to get this bag anytime soon.

I agree...For $2000 I can get a wicked classic Chanel or two Loewe purses.

The most I've spent on a Coach bag is around $400 (& below). Then they go on sale...

Yeah, Coach always goes on sale. I can't see spending that kind of money, or even half on it if it went on sale lol. I can just think of so many other bags I'd rather have. I'm not sure who the target consumer is for this bag, but I'm sure it wasnt me hehe.

Coach's dive into the hi-end market was indeed a season too late. They should have been designing their bags to be classic yet stylish. The best place to get thier bags is the outlet. They are still cute and you get the best price!

I knew Coach was going to grow up but as HermesLover stated 'a season too late.' I fancy the Demi none the less and will wait for a sale. For the Zipster it fits jeans and California foothills.

I have never seen a Coach bag on sale inside a Coach boutique. Ever. The markdowns you are seeing are sales by the department stores that are licensed distributors of Coach. In fact, Coach hates these markdowns so much that they are going to begin pulling out of many of the dept stores where they are sold. Aside from that, I have only ever seen an actual Coach "sale" at a Coach outlet, which carries bags from 2-4 seasons ago. I just wanted to clarify since the "Coach always goes on sale!" comments were kind of misleading, when in fact it was Nordstrom or Macy's etc marking the bags down.

I know they go on sale in department stores, and I guess I never paid attention or realize the actual Coach store did not put them on sale. That is their choice, but it is hard to regualte the other stores (unless of course you stop selling to them). I actually have seen quite a few Coach bags on sale (at dept. stores of course), but usually if I want to buy from their company I always go for the current bags
