My company has a birthday celebration each month for all employees that had a birthday during that month. The company will purchase a cake and we sing Happy Birthday. They don't provide us with beverages because we have a soda fountain station in the building.

But within the smaller teams, and for colleagues whom we're closer to, we usually have our own celebrations. I totally wish my company would give us Birthday leave though!

My department celebrates birthdays monthly, in honor of whoever had a bday during that given month. We used to decorate offices/cubes as well, but then someone was inadvertently forgotten and it left some people feeling sore so we don't do that anymore.

in holland if it's your birthday you bring in a vlaai (cake) and your co-workers usually get together a bit of cash for a small gift...

I've not been working in this office long enough to have seen it, but rumour is that someone else "attempts" to make her a cake - it's the running office joke!

I love all of the office Birthday celebrations! It shows a lot that everyone cares to celebrate with each other - your workplace worth is very high! LOL! We do get to take a day off in the month of our Birthday which is awesome! I love that extra day around my B-day! It is my personal shopping day!

We have monthly birthday potlucks...I work at a school and it is a pretty small satff. For my closer co-workers, I usually take them out for a lunch or a drink after work.
