Hi,
I'm in a bit of a conundrum. I've had my eye on a Stroke Me for quite some time and was initially thinking of getting one in the June sale, but the way they are going fast I thought, maybe I should get one now?!! I first got the SMM in petrol as I love the colour, but the SMM just feels a lot smaller to me than the usual sized bags I go for, so I've returned that and in the mean time have been considering the wine SM or the chocolate SM. I've ordered the wine SM cos everyone I ask seems to say the wine is a unique colour and is great for spring and there are many chocolate/brown bags that I can get later. But then one thing I've noticed from some tpf'ers pics of their SMs is that the wine tends to look more slouchy and rounded than the chocolate whch is what I don't want. I actaully want a little bit more structure to the bag. So do I get the chocolate too, or just stick with the wine?!! Confused

Choose chocolate if you want structure. The wine is a glossier leather and it gets very soft and smooshy. Chocolate is all smooshy too but since the leather is thicker, it provides a little more structure then a thinner glossy leather would. I would choose wine regardless though since it's such a beautiful color but chocolate is a great color too. I like wine since it is a bit more striking.

I have both chocolate and wine SMs, I'll try to post pics. later today for comparison. They're both gorgeous so I'd have a hard time choosing one. I will say that in the large SM, chocolate feels bigger than wine because the leather is more structured.

Mine is glossy apple (adore it!), but I think chocolate would be fantastic with the contrast between the lining and the dark color!

I would stick with the wine. It does slouch a bit but not enough for it to totally lose its structure. The wine is sooooo gorgeous!! Trust me, you will adore the color.

Ok, so so far 3 for chocolate and 1 for wine, and citychris who has both can't decide..ok let's see, so far from my BE collection I have the TMA in tan, the LM in purple, a TME on order in petrol and a SM in wine, which may turn into chocolate soon?!!! I wish I could have more than one SM but for now I can only justify one. So which should I go for? Plus I do not or have ever owned a bright bag in my collection, my purple LM is my first ever. My bags are mostly, bowns, black and recently grey. Having said that I've never warmed to red/burgundy bags before, always going for the safer options. But what I will say, is that when I've seen pics of some you with your SMs, e.g citychris' pics, the chocolate, seems more structured than the wine.

The purple is my first BRIGHT color bag...I have a Cherry Botkier Bianca which is my other bag of color. I realized after that bag...that 1 reddish bag is good enough for me. It is all personal preference, I find I use my neutral bags the most and always have. I like having the BRIGHTER colors as makeup bags and such. THAT IS JUST ME THOUGH! |

My first BE was a Stroke Me in Choco -- the original "dusty" choco. I LOVE it. So, of course, I vote for Choco. But then, my BE collection consists of Black Crash, Matte White, Choco, Tan...and a Pewter Angel Purse. So, I'm a neutral kind of BE gal. We'll see when I order a color... LOL

Savvy23, I noticed your burgundy botkier in the photo of your SMM chocolate, I too have a bianca satchel but in the mottled silver/gold. At the mo, I am veering towards the chocolate, looking at how wearable it is etc. and Jackie says she prefers the SM in the chocolate as does Ashley. But then I look at my LM in purple and think whoa!! What a pop of colour and yet it doesn't look to be a difficult colour to team clothes with. I tend to wear loads of neutrals, as well as colours such as navy, mustard, green, purple...hmmm

I agree...that Purple is luscious! I took it around with me to show people and even when I modeled it ( I am wearing Navy colors today) people said it look ed great with my blues..they also said "hey Viking purple!" I had a friend that was wearing a Salmon colored shirt and it looked really good on her too when she "tried" on my handbag. I still tell everyone...go with what you feel comfortable in. Good luck! |
