I think we should hang in there ladies. Jackie's going to resolve this. She knows she has to. So, let's stay calm and happy with our BE's. I can barely stand the excitement of my arriving bags next week!!!!!

I don't appear to have been charged by MB for using my debit cards, one from a building society account and one from a bank. (I suppose charges may show up later but they haven't at the moment.) I don't know if this is because I am in a EU country or because they are debit rather than credit cards.

Understood!

Yes, I've been told today that Paypal is no longer an option we can choose.

As I understand it MB has a better conversion for BE then Paypal.

In any event, Let's hope that Jackie will either change her mind and let those customer's that aren't comfortable with MB still use Paypal or find another option equally acceptable.

TG - I agree with you. Jackie knows she has to resolve this one way or the other. If not I suspect she will lose a lot of customer's that won't sign up for MB.

Let's enjoy our bags!

I paid by Mastercard and on my credit card statement it is showing as Moneybookers GBR and the amount just for the bag and postage ie £208 no extras.

Maybe charges apply for non EU transactions or use of particular cards.

I would think so, dont know about cards issued overseas but most UK credit card issuers make a surcharge for purchases in a foreign currency don't they.

I've been informed the conversion is .4% lower with Paypal then MB.

I was charged the exact dollar amount by Moneybookers on my credit card, no charges.

^ Same here and I'm in the U.S. I know everyone is having a headache with Moneybookers though and hope it can get sorted out. It sounds like signing up for an account in advance eliminates the issues though for the most part?

From what I have read, the receiver pays no fee, and the exchange rate is better for them than for paypal. This discrepancy is accounted for by moneybookers charging the sender 1% to send payments, and requiring that money needs to be deposited to their account prior to sending, which will incur a 1.9% fee if funded by a non EU credit card.

(note this is the US version of the site, which it automatically sent me to from the UK version). Yet other people from the US are clearly not incurring charges for paying through moneybookers. I suppose I am just confused....I have a bee in my bonnet about it, which for some reason I can't shake off without a concise explanation. Maybe it is fridayitis or something.

It looks like it is free to send money from the UK but not to withdraw it so I wonder if the buyer loses out if BE refunds them?

Paypal is an option, just not directly on the website. I bought two bags using payapal, but Jackie approved it beforehand and gave me the final amount of $ before I made the payment. 2% was added to the cost of the bags as that is what she says they are charged by paypal.

Jackie told me today that it's .4% difference which is SO worth it to me if I"m allowed Paypal as an option going ahead. I"m just not sure though until she gets all this resolved.

Perhaps she'll save Paypal as a choice for us "difficult" customer's.

Hmmm.... There is certainly a big difference between .4% and 2%..... Which number is right??????? (considering it was provided by the same person)
