I'm glad you are back, CB. The lounge is quiet without you.

Did you say shoes? What did you buy? I found a cute pair of metalic leather flip flops by Clarks. Super cute and they made all of my summery outfits look beachy and fun.

You would hate to hear what I am reading. I just have to read mindless love stories after reading all of the medical journals during the week. I would steer clear of book advice from me! However, I should get a little credit for helping you meet Edward.

Lovely, lovely Edward.....

Maybe I should also say that I've got a book on the back burner called 'Me Cheetah' which is a spoof autobiography of the chimp in the Tarzan films, and it's definitely calling to me so no knocking of mindless love stories!

I'll put up pics of the shoes on the non-BE purchase thread. I like the sound of your summery flip flops!

Loved the shoes. A chimp autobiography? Hmmm... I don't feel so bad now.

I've been flicking through it and it's actually quite amusing describing some stars and the Golden Age of Hollywood in the most irreverant way....

I'm off to the dentist tomorrow - yuck. My top two front teeth have never been the same since my DS (when he was about 3 many years ago) came rushing towards me for a hug and accidently bashed into the first one and did exactly the same thing a week later to the other one! So every time I trot off to the dentist she always updates me as to their progress, and I know that eventually I'm looking at bridging crowns or implants, but they're feeling quite firm at the minute, so fingers crossed!

completely out of topic here, but i got some swatches today and i needed to share
i got
purple matte
purple pebbled luxe
petrol matte
petrol pebbled luxe
petrol glossy
taupe matte
taupe glossy

I am completely in love with both purple leathers. I wish i could do purple, but i am not ready yet for the challenge. Pebbled purple is absolutely out of this world. Really wonderful. It'd be amazing with silver hardware - LOL

PS I was quite surprised to find a note from Maya stating i should return the samples to BE. I thought they were meant to be shared with other tPFers, but maybe they prefer to distribute them themselves. I am fine either way!

I love petrol pebbled, too. Petrol matte is a close second.

I thought taupe matte would have more grey in it, from the small leather sample i can say that i prefer dark grey matte. I havent seen this leather in a bag, though.

Maria,

I received a purple pebbled luxe sample, and you're right--the color is just crazy fantastic! I am hoping that I will one day get a bag in this color--maybe a WTM midi or a Hug Me. I also think that the color is gorgeous but not severe--I think that it is very wearable and one that can be worn year round. Love it, love it.

oooh, sounds pretty. I have been seeing a lot of pretty colors lately. I really need to add some color to my bag wardrobe as well. I would think purple would be somewhat neutral.

CB - Hope you get to keep your two front teeth for a long while. I hate dental work.

Maria, I can say that I prefer the dark grey to the taupe after having more experience with both leathers now. The taupe is pretty but IMO the DG is prettier.

Good Luck CB with your dental work.

I just went for my routine cleaning yesterday and my hygienist knows to automatically give me the headset for relaxation music. That's how much I don't like going to the dentist.

The taupe bags I have seen IRL look greyer than the small sample of taupe I received, which looked taupe and not grey at all. I think it's hard to judge from a sample. I love both colors and leathers but have a slight preference for dark grey.

So, are any Belenistas on a health kick? I really have put on some pounds in the last few months with all of my meetings and vacations. I sort of fell off my daily workout routine which is really really bad for anyone over 35. Trust me on this! I love working out, so that really isn't the problem. My problem is I frequent nice restaurants a lot. It's a hazard of my job and being kidless. So, I decided I needed some motivation besides the fear of having no clothes that fit!

I went out and purchased a bag that I really wanted but shouldn't buy (because now I am definitely bag poor). I love this bag, and it is a really rare find. I'm giving it to DH and telling him to not give it to me until I lose twenty pounds. I'm thinking that may do the trick! What do you guys think? I'll be reporting back, but I will reveal the bag when the time comes. Notice I didn't say IF!

I started off with such good intentions at the beginning of the year, and yet I seem to have piled on the pounds! I swear that all you have to do after 35 is have a sniff of something vaguely fattening ...! Sigh, I think I'm going to have to do some serious dieting, but I don't want to.... It better be some bag suzi. LOL!!

Suzi - Good luck taking off the 20 pounds! Keeping a bag out of reach until you meet your goal is a great idea. Eat healthy, get back to your workouts, and be patient since it takes some time to lose weight safely.

CB - You're right about the age thing. I was underweight until I reached my 30's. Then, I gained almost 30 pounds over a period of about 6 or 7 years. To get into shape, I got serious about inline skating, lost 20 pounds, and ended up at a healthy weight instead of being underweight.

My main fitness goal each year is 1,000-1,200 miles of inline skating. After skating tonight, I'm up to 602 miles for the year. I'm happy with my progress, especially since I lost a lot of opportunities for skating in the spring because of constant rain.

^^^ I am so impressed. What a fun way to lose weight. I used to skate as a teenager and thought it was so easy until a freind of mine rented a skate place out for the kids. I put those skates on thinking I would be doing twirls and stuff. NOPE! I had the hardest time just stopping for the first hour. I totally forgot how to do it. It's definitely not like the old saying about riding a bike!lol

Okay, I just found another bag that I absolutely have to have. I don't know what's wrong with me? I'm usually more restrained. I'm like a bagaholic!

I'm already thinking about revising my goal to 30 pounds so I can get a bag at every 15 pounds. I know I'm terrible... Ummm... terrible AND bag broke! I need an intervention.

me me me!! I'm on the "wedding diet"... ! Joined a new gym and have been eating healthy for the past 3 weeks. I agree nice restaurants are the problem. We were supposed to go to 2 restaurants this week for Providence restaurant week.. I had to cancel the 2nd after eating at the first.. AND I only ate half my meal...
